Who might pop up this season and how?

There are any number of characters from TNG and the rest of the franchise that could guest at some point during this season (3). Who would have thunk Moriarty and Lore would be among them?! Okay, who else?

My money is on Ro and O'Brien. Maybe Barclay but who knows. I think we see Data's holo of Tasha too. Beyond that.... My suspicion is that we see (gird your loins) Deep Space 9 toward the end of the season. I could be totally off, but it's fun to conjecture. If this is about the ramifications of the War, and a jump off to Legacies, and there are surprise characters ahead that we don't yet know about...well, it would be amazing to see Captain Kira on the view screen before the Titan goes through the wormhole in like episode 9.

Spoiler: Lower Decks S3

Nana Visitor and Armin Shimerman both popped up for cameos in Lower Decks last season to voice their characters once again.

So clearly they've both touched the Trekverse lately. Makes me wonder if one of them might have done a walk on cameo for Picard as well! Certainly that'd be something.

I would love some DS9 characters especially Kira and O'Brien. If Sisko would show up I would go crazy, However, I can't see Avery Brooks coming back. Maybe if they have Section 31 Bashir could show up. Wouldn't Gerak be cool?

Voyager: I am not near a fan of Voyager compared to TNG and DS9. Although Prodigy is tempting me to rewatch it. Chakotay and Janeway will not come back due to Prodigy. I think the Doctor is the most likely. Also, I heard this on a podcast, but wouldn't it be cool to see Kim as a Commander or Captain? He finally got promoted.

Yeah Avery Brooks retired from acting over 20 years ago now. I don't know whether we'll ever see him back on screen in Star Trek, much as I'd like to.

I think we're going to see Jake Sisko, since Cirroc Lofton was at the premiere, we know there are going to be some DS9 nods, and there's an investigation afoot - seems like there might be room for a reporter type.

I'd love to see Ro again, and of the old recurring characters still alive, she seems the one most likely to have confront Picard with the consequences of one of his old choices (if the spoiler reports are accurate, anyway).

I don’t want to see walk on cameos for the sake of returning a familiar face. If legacy characters return it has to be for an important reason which is relevant to the plot. Any legacy characters willing to return should make their interest known to Terry M’talas though, as it would be cool to have them return in the Seven of Nine Star Trek Universe Continuation, or they could even be included in one of the Star Trek: Legacy ‘TV movies’ on one of the various streaming platforms. If Mamma Nana returns, she needs her own Deep Space Nine TV movie or mini series along with other returning cast like Armin Shimmerman, especially if Avery Brooks is game as I know he would be a hard sell for a Trek comeback. If Brooks doesn’t want to come back though, they always have the Snoop as a recast option…

Shatner has stated on several occasions that he thinks all the new Trek series are awful, and betray Roddenberry's vision. Agree with him or not, I don't think we'll see him back.

Alas he seems to be growing ever more angry in his dotage.
