Who Is Your Favorite ST Background Character?

Damn! Not yet allowed to post any photos...So I'll just do a couple write-in votes...

My favorite bit players with actual dialogue from ST classic:

Lt. Palmer, from the Doomsday Machine ...(ah, those eyes!)

Lt DeSalle, from the Squire of Gothos

and the proto-chekov himself, Lt. Kevin Riley

(as for my favorite non-speaking extra, Billy Blackburn aka Hadley aka mr Stone Face is de winnah!)

Here's Bill Blackburn from a television interview, circa 2007.

Then there is Lt. O'Neil from the "Tholian Web". He was also the O'Neil from "Return of the Archons". And he was Mr. Harper, who was disintegrated in the engineering room by the "Ultimate Computer".

Speaking of dead, recurring extras: was Galloway the only one to be killed on screen and then miraculously reappear later on?

And here's the ever versatile Bill Blackburn covered in latex so he can portray an android in "Return to Tomorrow".

Yes, he re-appeared as Lt. Johnson in "Day of the Dove". David L. Ross was one of the cooler red shirt crewmen.

This gentleman only appeared in 2 TOS episodes, but he was a great replacement doctor when McCoy was away from the Enterprise. Doctor Mbenga.

Roger Holloway, aka Mr. Lemli, who appeared in many episodes as a background security guard. He was lucky that he never suffered the fate of other red shirts who were killed off from time to time.

Good old Mr. Kelowitz from several first season episodes. He eventually disappeared from the decks of the Enterprise like so many other supporting actors/actresses did.

Here's another Enterprise crewman that didn't make it to the 2nd season.

John Ardnt. Another one of those "back from the dead" extras. :)

I liked Jerry Ayres, who died twice--once as Ensign O'Herlihy and again as Ensign Rizzo.

But for extras who rarely had any lines, I'll have to tip my hat to Paskey. Blackburn kind of blended too much into the background... but of course, that's what he was there for.

I put together a web page about recurring extras, but it's still a work in progress. I need to get motivated to finish it off.

Poor, Ensign Rizzo. Supposedly, the original ending for the "Obsession" script had all of the dead crewman resurrected during the finale, but I guess that was a bit over the top even for sci-fi.

Cool! That should be interesting to surf through.

I like Kevin Riley, Dr M'Benga, Angela and of course Lt Kyle. Shame we didnt to get see more of those guys. Always wondered what M'benga and kyle's first names were though.

Wow, yes indeed, this it great! Love it! I love the side-by-side comparisons. The Barbara Babcock section is especially great.

Barbara Baldavin, wow, I didn't know that was she in Turnabout Intruder too, but there she is obviously.

Please finish someday!

Edward Madden was in "The Cage" and "The Enemy Within". He would have made a great recurring crewman, but....

This red shirt from "Conscience of the King" appeared in a few 1st season episodes and then quietly disappeared forever. His rank and name were apparently never mentioned on the air, and I don't believe he ever had any lines to speak. Maybe someone out there in cyber space has more information (?).
