The original Pike was played by the actor who also played Jesus Christ.Picard, because he was played by the best actor.
2. Picard: I love Picard through 90 - 95 % of TNG and Patrick Stewart is obviously great in the role, but when the writers screwed him up they REALLY screwed him up (Homeward, his asking why Crusher saved the people in cryo in Neutral Zone): stuff that even as a kid watching left a very very bad taste in my mouth.
I still don't like Picard for that.his asking why Crusher saved the people in cryo in Neutral Zone)
Meh, as character credits go, I'd stack Stewart's Cpt. Ahab plus all his Shakespeare credits up against a turn as JesusThe original Pike was played by the actor who also played Jesus Christ.
You don't get much better.
It's a joke...Meh, as character credits go, I'd stack Stewart's Cpt. Ahab plus all his Shakespeare credits up against a turn as Jesus
That was the point. He had to grow. He didn't have his dad's guidance.
I regard Picard in The Neutral Zone as "early instalment weirdness". Not really relevant to the character, characterization to ignore.
Heartbreaking? Good grief, it's a fictional character not hero. I love that Kirk because he grew, changed and became better! Also, my wife enjoyed the character and became more interested in Trek. It's not heartbreaking unless the character stays in that place of struggle.Point received, but it was still painful to watch, and - a little like grimdark Snyder Superman - a little heartbreaking because it was a blockbuster movie that was the introduction to the character for many.
Sorry. lol It just blew right by meIt's a joke...
