A minor bit of trivia that has been bugging me for a while.

Who is the dark haried woman in the blue shirt? Is this character seen in other episodes? Is this a one time appearance by a real-world big wig?

I am curious, because if you watch the ep ("Mortal Coil"), when it gets to that neat slow motion camera pan across the crowd at the Prixin party, this person is the focal point of the whole shot. Seems odd for a random ND to be standing front and center, in front of Janeway and all the other main characters.

It's probably his actual street clothes (like those ugly Ed Hardy shirts) to cut cost on budget. It looks like those ugly shirts they sell in Target or Wal-Mart men's dept. Remember this was filmed during the time Z. Caverechies and multi-color M.C. Hammer pants were the style.

If the dark-haired woman were KM's stand-in, is the blonde Jeri Ryan's stand-in? And the guy to the left (Beltran's right), Beltran's stand-in? Similar heights on all three. It'd be funny if they were ALL stand-ins. I could see the man and woman on the right being RDM's and Roxanne Dawson's stand-ins. Just nobody for Russ.

Well, that seemed like a great theory, so I looked it up. They don't seem to be the stand-ins, at least not the photo-stand-ins. They could still have been stunt people or something.

The woman in blue is Ensign Kayla, a Bajoran who fell into some deep coma, called "the long sleep" after inhaling the pollen of some flowers on planet Urrythia.

All that happened in the book "Chrysalis".

Now how have I identified the woman in the picture as Ensign kayla? Well, to be honest, I did spend a rainy Saturday some years ago downloading pictures with unnamed crewmembers and gave then names after the people in the books and this one I named Kayla.
