Who is the Mole?

No spoilers past the episode that aired please, but this is a discussion of that episode, so spoilers are fine for that :)

After a long wait, the Mole is finally back. What did you guys think? The host obviously isn't Anderson Cooper, but I think he did a passable job. Everything else in the game is very similar to before, so it should be exciting. Does anyone have any guesses for the Mole?

At this point, I haven't a clue who the Mole is, but that should be expected. I tried to guess who Marcie was aiming for (since that person wouldn't be the Mole), but she said she had a bad memory, so I'm guessing she's a bad test taker. My initial thought was to dismiss Nicole as being too obvious, but it might be intentional. If she knew whining would get her control over who does what in the second game, she could be the Mole. What do you guys think?

It might be on ABC.com tomorrow. I hope I can convince someone else to watch it, since I would love to hear people's crazy theories.

Checking my DVR it seems the next episode doesn't air for two weeks?

This is what I get for putting of watching Lost. I probably would've seen the promos for it.

DAMMIT!

The return of The Mole was great. I have no theories yet, but I like the new execution ceremony, with the touch screen. Seeing that it's been four years, they needed to update the tech a bit. Jon Kelley is OK. Definite improvement on Ahmad Rashad, but nothing can compare to Anderson Cooper, but since he's off doing his CNN thing, I'll settle for Jon Kelley.

SHIT!

This was on tonight!

DAMMIT!

I missed it too but I saw the elimination. Given there is not much this summer, I'm a little surprised they aren't going to replay the first episode. Hopefully to does go online or on demand or something.

It will be online in a little over 2 and a half hours, according to the website. :)

I don't like the host he's sounds like a bad commercial voice over. Did anyone notice anything about the helmets they wore during the challenge, one was different.

We have never watched THE MOLE before. My wife and I decided to watch it after seeing the promo during LOST last week. We have TIVOd it and will watch it tomorrow...looks like it might be a good show...

I don't know. I'd be pissed about being 'picked' to sleep outside, also. But, she did seem ... almost happy to have to sleep outside on the beach.

Bobby ... if he's the mole, being a non-running weak wimp is a lame way of throwing a game. All it's likely to do is make everyone hate you, not overlook you as the mole.

The guy who cried about his wife having to work two jobs ... that's who I'm thinking ...

For those of you that missed it, past episodes of The Mole will be posted every following Tuesday on ABC.com.

Truth be told, I don't think Bobby is the Mole. I agree with Jenee that acting like a weakling is a lame way to throw the game.

I'm thinking that Craig might be a possibility for The Mole. He was a scavenger, and if he is The Mole, then it would be easy to avoid certain areas, so that items can't be unearthed.

Ditto with Paul. He seems like a well-built guy, and being on point with the timer, he'd be the likely one to do more to keep time, but he layed up. I think he might have been sandbagging (no pun intended) to cut short the team's time.

But I honestly think whoever is the real Mole hasn't shown their real deviousness yet. But if they have, they know how to do so without leaving tracks very well. It'll be interesting to see what happens next.

That and it's good to see David Michael Frank back as the composer for this season of The Mole. His original music back in 2001 was great, and I have the soundtrack on CD and on my iPod. Hopefully, they'll release this version's soundtrack as well.

Ugh... I hate all these people. Maybe it's because of the editing or the lack of the Coop, but I'm just not feeling it.
I'll keep watching it because, hey, I like the format and hope that the cast picks up.

I agree that Nicole was a little suspicious. She cried and pouted all night long about having to sleep outside on a comfy cot, but she barely batted an eyelash at having to sleep on a towel in the sand! It could have just been editing, but I thought her lack of complaining about that was odd.

I'm also looking at Craig. From the beginning he struck me as someone who would make an ideal mole.

She wasn't complaining because she got the first exemption. I don't think she's the mole though, because she's simply not subtle enough. The only hint would be that she knew there was an exemption, so she made herself annoying just to get it... but then it ruins her for the rest of the season because the other players will hate her. It would be like Patrick from season 2, who was ostracized right before he was eliminated.

^I think she did fake the bitchiness, so she'd be voted whiniest and have an exemption. I think that it actually works in her favor for people to dislike her. They think she's an annoying bitch, but they don't think she's the mole. They would think that the mole would be more subtle and not try to stand out so much.

Of course, who knows what any of these people are really thinking.

I don't know. I've basically watched 8 seasons of the show from various countries and from what I remember, all of the Moles did not go out of their way to stand out.
In Mole 2 US, you had Elavia who everyone disliked because she was distant and aloof, and everyone thought she was the mole, until - in a similar vote to this one - she was voted least popular and given 50 grand to quit the game. And even then, she stood out because she was quiet and distant, not because she was loud and complaining all the time.

That said, maybe she is the mole and she's trying something different. :)
If she screws up games and people already hate her, they'll just assume she's incompetent, not that she's the mole. I don't know how long that strategy would work though.

Just a bump for anyone watching this week (I'll post my thoughts later, but it's a reminder for those who want to watch but might forget it's on).

SPOILER SPACE FOR THIS WEEK'S EPISODE

I'm thinking Nicole is definitely a legitimate bitch with her outburst at the end. I don't think she's acting. Also, Craig acted beyond useful (I think he saved $22,000 singlehandedly). Because of that, I'm thinking of crossing them off the list.

I'm wondering if people have been freeze-framing the intro, since they loaded the hints there last two US seasons.
For some reason, I think that pig mission was used in Season 1... but I may be misremembering... just the idea of being in an arena seems familiar.

I totally forgot about it. Is it going to air again sometime or does the network show it on the internet?
