I can't wait until 2009 to vote in this.

Neil

2008 should have been the end date could someone plese tell me how to fix this thing?
Since even the mods seem stumped, I imagine they wouldn't mind if you started a new one. You could even start a new one in the middle of this thread.
I wouldn't, and good idea... :)

Same here. :)

It's always bugged me that we couldn't edit polls. I can understand not editing them once people have started voting, but when something won't let you vote for another two years...

Okay, barring all the jibber jabber about polls and such, I think I speak for (almost) everyone here when I say...

Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!

There, I said it. :p

I voted for Chang because he was a true jerk. Along with all of his co-conspirators, they were conspiring against EVERYONE!

Chang didn't care who died as long as he reached his objective. Gorkon? Meh, need his death to put the whole thing in motion. If the Enterprise under Captain Spock took issue with Kronos One keeping Kirk and Bones? Meh, who cares, we'll destroy them.

I mean, this guy didn't care WHAT happened as long as the peace conference was stopped! That's pretty callously evil right there.

What, no love for the Borg Queen? She was evil, she was determined, she was sexy (in a creepy sort of way), and she was competent, which at least puts her above Soran and his inability to figure out that he could stick himself in a spacesuit and sit in the path of the nexus!

She was horrible idea redeemed by an amazing performance. I'm one of those who think she ruined the Borg. I much prefer to think of them as Locutus characterized them, a misguided attempt to improve quality of life for all species rather than the puppet drones of a lonely, malevolent dominatrix.

But that Alice Krige made a wonderful lonely, malevolent dominatrix.

Really, though, who competes with Khan?

Apparently I'm with the majority on this one :)

Khan was so delightfully over the top, he had a reason to hate the hero to his core and had a complex back story that could be simplified into "he wants to create an empire".

Second would probably be the Borg Queen, followed by Kurge, though he'd probably be tied with the whale probe.

Oh, I'm not ragging on Khan by any stretch of the imagination. Heck, I voted for him myself. :D I was just surprised that Soran and Kruge had received votes, yet the Queen had not.

The problems with the Queen really began, IMO, when Voyager began yanking her out in every freakin' Borg episode. The way the character was written in FC, it was easy to see her as a summary of the collective will, instead of being some bizarre dominatrix who exists apart from and controls the collective, as we started to see in VOY. That, I agree, destroyed the Borg.

There were a few indications of what she would devolve into in FC, but there was plenty of promise as well, and the Queen could--could--have been a good addition to the borg had her character been handled very differently in later apearences.

The Borg Queen was evil, but you just can't beat...
KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN! He wasn't a cybernetic space zombie who could be in "Thriller."
