I'm sure this has been done numerous times in the past but I thought I make another one. When it comes to the James Bond films, which actor is your personal favorite?

I'm sure a lot of you have seen at least one Bond film over the years. I would have to say my favorite actor to play the role is Pierce Brosnan, since he was Bond at the time I grew up. What about you guys?

as much as i love Connery its hard for me to choose one over the others.

Connery defined the role, and as a Scot it's the law that I have to say him anyway.

But Craig is my equal favourite, at least.

Despite some of his movies being embarrassing, I still like Roger Moore the best, the right balance between dark/serious and light/fun without feeling (like Brosnan often did) like a mix.

Dalton
Craig
Moore
Brosnan
Lazenby
Connery

Yes that's right, SC is my least favourite 007!

Also Tom Baker is not the best Dr Who...

I think these polls would be better if everyone picked their top three, I think it would give a better spread of how people really think and Connery would probably still win...

Connery.
But I think Dalton had potential, and Brosnan could have been the best, but both were let down by crappy scripts.

I voted for Tim Dalton.
Only because I thought he'd get no votes.
I'd have gone with Niven as that was who Fleming wanted, but he never appeared in an official Bond film.
But for me, it is a tie, Connery/Dalton

My favourites are Craig, Dalton, and Connery. When I was in my early 20s I would have said Connery, but the older I get the less I like him. I voted for Craig.

Coming from a background of the novels, it was always going to be Connery for me, not only for his incredible screen presence, but for the serious approach the films took, even when the plots started to get rather ludicrous.

I'd give credit to Lazenby for his underrated outing, to Dalton for reintroducing some 'grit' and for Brosnan for being such a good Bond in some iffy movies. Moores first couple were OK, but his best film For Your Eyes Only is criminally overlooked. The rest if his films are rotten.

I'm a little surprised that rather than Connery I voted for Craig. It's hard to separate them, but Casino Royale is a masterpiece and an incredible performance...

I agree with this, and I voted for Dalton. Connery has always been the actor best associated with Bond, but I've decided that "best associated" doesn't equal "best portrayal". Last year I bought the Bond 50 Blu-Ray boxset, and after watching all 23 movies in a straight runthrough, I think Dalton came out as the best portrayal of the character as written in the Fleming books.

When I was younger, I thought for sure it would be Brosnan, but after reading a few of the books I realize how unlike the character his Bond actually was (nothing against Brosnan, he's a great actor). Bond is not some suave, sophisticated guy in a tuxedo, he is a cold, calculated, efficient spy who gets the job done without thinking twice. The Bond of the novels actually comes across as someone who doesn't have friends and doesn't want them, because all they bring you is pain. He's really a sad, sad man.

My favorites from best to worst:

Roger Moore
Timothy Dalton
Sean Connery
Daniel Craig
George Lazenby
David Niven
Pierce Brosnan

Eyes Only is my favorite of the Moore films. A straight action piece with genuine West/Soviet espionage, and no goofiness.
