Bad idea.

It's not that hard to find independent research on candidates and make a decision for yourself.

And term limits would magically fix this somehow??
a. For every bad idea link there's a good idea link and a so-so link...
b. The point is that politicians as a whole say the same things about each other that I have about them, to which you objected. I only made it more obvious to whose behavior you object.
c. Ah, funny guy. I see what you did there. No.

Given that everything is apparently equivalent in your eyes, how do you make decisions about anything?

Term limits for one. No career politicians. Female empowerment. Science as a rule. Get rid of the Citizens United thing.

I get mailers from politicians saying how bad the other one is. Which one is lying?

There are individual politicians you can meet who are anecdotally honest, bright, and good people. I use the plural and collective. Put them together and they collectively agree that none deserve the job and have proved it.

I just expect all politicans to lie.

Thank you ABC News for not joining the insane, overwrought hysteria about a "constitutional crisis" if Trump doesn't concede:

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/donald-trump-doesnt-concede-election/story?id=42942492

Hillary and others should know better than to be so aghast at the thought of Trump not conceding, as if it were a constitutional crisis - a polite gesture, but completely meaningless to the objective election process. And I think she and all the other politicians who pretend to be so aghast know very well it's not some crisis, and only use it to further their goal of making Trump look worse. He does that all on his own, thank you, and it lowers the maturity level, and my opinion, of those who partake in all this aghastness about something so stupid just to further their own ends. All they need to do is chuckle politely in his face to say "So what?" Instead, he gets more attention. Politicians are stupid people, and the only people who deserve to win political positions are those who don't want them.

I wonder if you would feel the same way had Trump's comments been from a sitting president running for re-election. It's only a meaningless tradition until the guy breaking it has real power.

A gracious concession is a nod to those who backed Trump, that the US and our process of electing a leader are important and valid.
You say that like as if these people have never exprienced an election before. Most of Trump's voters are middle aged men who I'm sure have either voted or been aware of the elections that have happened in their lifetime.

Millions of folks with guns and a notion that the election is not valid, could be a dangerous mix.

Oh brother:rolleyes:

If Trump doesn't concede there isn't going to be a bunch of crazies with guns trying to take over the government. This is as nutty as the suggestion that went around in 2008 of an Obama assination.

President Obama has had more threats on his life than any other president in history, though. I think 3 people have actually tried and got caught, but a bunch more have made threats.

If Trump refuses to concede it's not going to cause a civil war (as much as some of those stupid yahoos would want to start one, and love to brag about it on Facebook), but you're missing the point here. These idiots have latched onto Trump because he has given legitimacy to their anti-authoritarian, conspiracy-nut lunacy. He has become their champion. He feeds off their anger. He says increasingly nutty stuff precisely because he knows it's exactly what they want to hear. He does not shut them down when they talk about putting Hillary in front of a firing squad, hanging her, or whatever else. And he encourages them.

That is what is dangerous. So him not recognizing the election result, or being bullish about it, may encourage some of the more nutty of his supporters to do stupid shit like riot, destroy Muslim businesses, mosques, and some even might go after Hillary.

They are unhinged. So while them making war against the government is far-fetched, them causing trouble certainly is not.

Yea that's what I was thinking too. But really, Russia?
Who says Russia doesn't have a sense of ironic humor.

I would. The military defends the position - not the person. The office has the power - not the person barricading its door. The President, in your scenario, is the newly elected person outside the office door for a few extra seconds with a bunch of security forces - not inside. And proposing a scenario with Trump running for re-election is like asking "If I were standing on the sun, how much would I weigh?" Hypothetical, but ridiculously impossible.

At last - sanity.

The left loves to make this claim, but it has no basis in fact.

Politifact

In August 2009, an author who’s written about the Secret Service estimated that the number of threats against Obama had increased by 400 percent in comparison with his White House predecessor, George W. Bush.

But that December, then-Secret Service Director Mark Sullivan told a congressional committee that the number of threats against Obama had not -- again, had not -- increased by 400 percent.

"The threats right now ... is the same level as it has been for the previous two presidents at this point in their administrations," Sullivan said.

FALSE

Idiots and nuts go to political rallies? Say it ain't so!

Troublemakers exist on both sides.
Man Charged in Bomb Threat at North Carolina GOP Office

A man is facing felony charges after being accused of making a bomb threat against a GOP office in North Carolina.

The Hendersonville Police Department said in a news release that the Henderson County party headquarters received a bomb threat Thursday morning on the organization's voicemail, prompting an evacuation. The State Bureau of Investigation swept the building with a bomb dog and found no explosives.

Authorities say they were able to trace the call back to 24-year-old Dylan J. Schacht, of Hendersonville, who was arrested and charged with one count of terrorism and one count of filing a false report concerning a destructive device.

The threat came just days after someone firebombed the Orange County Republican headquarters.

Hate Graffitti Left On Property of Trump Supporters

Investigators are asking for help from the community to find the vandals who spray painted "Black lives matter" and "Kill white people" on walls businesses and roads in the Tampa Bay area.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. - Deputies found graffiti in Hillsborough County at two different locations.

One wall was hit along Gornto Lake Road in Brandon, with the phrase "kill white people" spray painted. Other tags read "black lives matter" and "BLM."

A crew painted over the phrases.

“It’s uncalled for, there’s a way to protest, there’s a way not to, this is just, it hurts everybody," Cat D'Alessandro said.

She saw a deputy along the road working to cover up the hate message, bought her own spray paint cans and helped out.

“I was kind of sad really because why does it have to be like, why does it have to get to this," she said.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's office said they don't know who did this and it's not the only damage. Less than a 10 minute drive away, a trailer was hit with similar messages. The Trump sign in their front yard was painted over.

“Yeah I’m pissed off, very pissed, because this just ruined our paint job and it makes our neighborhood look like trash now," Stacy Hatfield said.

Hatfield said it's wrong to graffiti a house because the owner is sharing who they want to vote for.

“Vandalism, they got nerve to come and do that," she said. "We didn’t know we was discriminating anybody obviously we offended somebody.”

Hatfield doesn't know who that could be. D'Allesando said she hopes it doesn't happen again.

"It makes me sad that it’s gotten to this much hate when we really should love and care about each other,” she said.

And that was all just recently.

Yes, there are douchebags on both sides, but only one side has, of late, "elevated" douchebaggery to an art form.

And term limits didn't eliminate Nixon or Bush (if you're a Democrat) or Johnson or Obama (if you're a Republican).

Okay...what the hell is this? http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...elected/ar-AAjharJ?li=BBmkt5R&ocid=spartanntp

Is he talking in terms of anti-Trust laws? Or is he really taking aim at the First Amendment here because he doesn't like the way the press has covered him? I'm legitimately asking here, because if it's the first case, I'm not sure how that applies. In the second case, is he fucking nuts? This is a dictatorial move.

Moments after promising Americans that he represented a break from the status quo, he promised to sue a number of women who have come forward to accuse him of sexual assault, calling them liars. And he added a new threat to his repeated criticisms of U.S. media companies, which he says cover his campaign unfairly to help Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
"They're trying desperately to suppress my vote and the voice of the American people," he told supporters in his speech.
"As an example of the power structure I'm fighting, AT&T is buying Time Warner and thus CNN, a deal we will not approve in my administration because it's too much concentration of power in the hands of too few," Trump said.
He also said he would look at "breaking" up Comcast's acquisition of NBC Universal in 2013. "Deals like this destroy democracy," he said.
Suggests anti-trust.

"When a simple phone call placed with the biggest newspapers or television networks gets them wall to wall coverage with virtually no fact-checking whatsoever, here is why this is relevant to you," he said. "If they can fight somebody like me who has unlimited resources to fight back, just look at what they could do to you, your jobs, your security, your education, your health care."
Mixed in with doubletalk bullshit to turn his supporters against the media....is a threat which suggests he wants to infringe on the freedom of the press. WTF?!:wtf:
