So, the iPhone 4 has been announced and will be out on the 24th of June. I held discussion about it here as it was being announced. So, a simple poll, raise your hand if you will be getting one or upgrading or what.

I will be getting one, and I have never had an iPhone before, this will be my first one.

If I had a need for a cell phone, I'd probably get one. But I am old school. If you can't find me at home or at work, then I don't wish to be found, let alone talk to people on the phone. Hell, I remember when I was a kid my sister trying to just get a phone extension installed in her room and being told no. Now it seems like every kid has to have their own cell, ridiculous! Whippersnappers! Get off my lawn! :)

Kids these days, they have no idea or could even fathom living in a world without cell phones. Of course, us older folks remember, I'm not too old, but I didn't get my first cell phone till I was 21, so for 21 years of my life I survived without one, heh. Yes, all we had growing up was one phone line in the house, kids today will never know what it was like without cell phones, I guess you could say we are way more spoiled now.

I'm more then happy with my Nexus One. I don't think I'll ever want to jump over into the Apple ecosystem, but of course to each their own.

On the topic of cellphones in general, I haven't had a landline in years and my cell is my only phone. I'm perfectly capable of leaving the phone in silent and not answering if I don't want to be available :p

I bought the 2008 iPhone with the intention of replacing it after 2 years.

Well, here we are and they didn't disappoint. I'll be there!

There is this awesome feature in Android 2.x, where you can go into a contact and tell the phone to send all that person's calls to mail and not bother you at all.

It might be in Android 1.x too, but I skipped the first gen and went straight to N1.

Yeah, I made a standin contact and attached the recurring junk phone calls that I can't get to leave me alone and set it to go to voice mail. Blissful silence ensued.

I just got the basic 8G iphone 3G a month ago. It's fine for what I want right now. Hubby says that, in the future, he'll take my phone and I'll have a new one.

No rush.

I currently have an iPhone 3G that I purchased in Nov '08. It's an 8gb model and I'm running out of space. I think that I will eventually upgrade to the iPhone 4 (32gb model) and use it to replace both my current phone and my four-year-old iPod.

i was going to, but i'll think i can wait a few months more until the dual core snapdragons start arriving.

No. My iPhone 3G works just fine. By the time I decide to go for a new cell, the iPhone 4 would be probably be dated these days, like the Sidekick 2 some people apparently are clinging to these days.
