Who else watched Star Trek animated on Nick in the 80's?

I first saw TAS rerun in the mid seventies on my local syndicated channel, WDCA-20. The reruns were shown at 3:30 weekdays. I remember it was always a race against time for my schoolbus to get me home in time to catch it . . .

I also saw it first run on NBC. I was 8 and it was the show I most looked forward to. "One of Our Planets is Missing" is the episode I remember most vividly from that period, probably because I audio taped it. Back then, Saturday morning TV was a wonderland for kids and it depresses me to talk to younger people who have no idea what I mean by "Saturday Morning cartoons."

"You can watch cartoons anytime with Cartoon Network."

This was back when cartoon versions of popular show was all the rage, and a few of them utilized the original actors, such as The Brady Kids, the New Adventures of Gilligan, Emergency Plus 4, etc. 60's TV shows were being revivied in animation pretty often then. When TAS was cancelled, I only learned about it when I tuned in one morning to be greeted by "Star Trek will no longer be seen. Now stay tuned for Westwind!" Needless to say, I never watched "Westwind."

When Nick began running it in the 80's, I was thrilled. I videotaped a couple, but I only had like 4 blanks and they were expensive! I got the whole run thru a special offer from Columbia House. They were calling subscribers of the original series tapes and offering the whole animated series and a "Star Trek Enterprise mobile" made of cardboard. My sister let me charge it on her card. :-)

Later on I got the laserdiscs and then the DVDs. Great stuff and fond memories.

I saw an episode on Nick in 1989 or 1990, around the time my parents got cable. I might have seen two if I strain to think back. I thought it was okay but it didn't hook me.

I didn't become a fan until 1991, around when I stopped watching Nick. I don't even know if they were showing TAS by that point. Either way, I didn't see an episode of TAS again until 1998 when I bought some episodes on video.

Does anyone know the years in which Nickelodeon aired TAS? As I mentioned before, I seem to recall 1985 being the first time I saw it, but my now-faulty memory (thanks to mortgages, jobs, and the like) can't be trusted like it used to be.

I'd say it was on Nick for about five years. Maybe on and off, but I can't say. I didn't have cable until March 1989 and remember watching an episode, at some point.

Nick used to have a lot of older programming, and I'm not talking about just Nick At Nite. I was surprised to find out You Can't Do That On Television was made in the early-'80s.

I remember watching a couple of episodes on a saturday morning tv show in uk. Think it was called going Live. For some reason they didnt show all the epsiodes only a hand full.
