Who eats in front of the TV?

.... or notebook etc. while watching shows, series, entertainment.....

I have to confess, I do it. But no potato chips or candy. Only my normal evening meal.

Sometimes with a glass or wine, but mostly with a smoothie.....

I have to admit I do a lot of times. Many times in front of an episode of Star Trek or a Star Trek movie, or while watching an episode of one of my other favorite shows, Dallas (a guilty pleasure for sure  )

And I'll even do it with junk food as well.

Though right now I'm trying to watch my, er, diet, so not as much snacking. But that's a story for another day ;)

My husband and I do so about 5 or 6 nights a week. It's just the two of us; our dinning room is pretty much just for for his gaming sessions, or a place to set stuff when you first walk into the house. Hubby comes home very late, so we eat while watching our shows, then go into our separate offices for awhile, and then go to bed.

I eat all my meals either at my desk or on the couch, in front of the tv. Our dinning table only gets used for actual dinners when we have guests over during the holidays.

In front of the computer, which is situated so I can easily watch TV. I have a running joke with the local Dominos, that Friday is my "pizza and Downton Abbey night".

I don't even own a dining table.

Neither do I. I live in a small appartment. I just have a kitchen table, and it is occupied with stuff.

It's weird. There are days I don't bother to switch on the set...except when I'm having my lunch or supper. When I finish eating, I switch off the TV. As for breakfast, almost always while sitting at the computer.

My wife is currently monopolizing the TV, attempting to watch all 1000+ episodes of "Dark Shadows," a show I have absolutely zero interest in.

So I am eating in front of the computer.

Since that is also where I watch smut, some interesting hygiene issues are raised. I do a lot of sanitizing.

I do for breakfast and lunch. Dinner I usually eat with my girlfriend at the dinning room table. She bitches that I eat breakfast and lunch while watching TV, when she isn't even at home, but on the two days a week when she works nights, it suddenly becomes okay when she does it.

Basically never - we always make our food so by the time you have made it, you might as well set up the table.

if there's something on tv I want to watch and I'm by myself I'll eat in front of the tv.

breakfast and lunch is usually in front of the computer.

if the wife is home we have supper at the table and watch the news.

A combination of the apartment layout and the tv being on a swivel mount means the tv can be seen while we're at the table.

During breakfast I watch Escape to the country or another “slow” BBC show about the countryside or gardening. It has become some sort of ritual for me, I guess.

I prefer to have dinner at my dining table, but I’ll end up in front of the telly several times a week anyway.

All the time. When I still had "TV" aka: DISH, and now that I watch everything on the computer, I sit at my desk. Meals, snacks, all of it.

Probably a bad habit started in my youth. In our house (1970's), we had a small B&W TV on the kitchen table to watch during meals, that way we didn't have to talk to each other ;)

If we were eating TV dinners on a Saturday, we might sit in the living room with the big color TV and TV trays.

A variation upon this theme...

Who eats while sitting behind the telly?

I don't, given the set is pretty much nestled against the wall. :nyah:

Vastly more entertaining eating in front of than eating behind the tv.
