Between my mom and my dad, i think it's pretty clear to everyone who knows/knew them and me, i take after my dad.
I love music, so did my dad. My mother actually hates music. Can you believe that? How can anyone actually hate music? She does.
My dad was a "treasure hunter". He loved combing the beaches with his metal detector and finding lost coins and jewelry. The amount of gold and silver he found and cashed in would astound you. (Side note: the jewelry people wear to the beach is mind blowing. HUGE gold chains, rings etc. LOST in the water. Found under the sand by my dad.)
I've been a "picker" my entire life starting from a young age. I have always loved going to garage sales, estate sales, auctions, whatever and finding treasures to either keep or sell for more money.
My dad was more of a loner, preferred to stay in and listen to music, watch tv etc. My mother is a social butterfly and lines up at least 3-4 things to do every single day.
I would rather stay in my cave doing the same things he did, or be on the internet than have the whirlwind schedule my mother has.
My mother is a clothes horse. My dad could wear the same thing everyday and be happy. I can't stand shopping for clothes, and when i am in for the day i pretty much wear the same few incredibly comfortable things i own. Clothes are of no interest to me.
Even the weird arthritis i have, my dad had.
My mother went gray at an early age. My father up until the day he died had very few gray hairs. Luckily i have very few gray hairs and people can't believe that i don't color my hair at all.
And, the weirdest thing of all, i have the same single hair on my arm that, unlike all the other arm hairs that don't grow, this one GROWS and has to be cut! Bizarro, right? This one hair that just grows and grows. And i have to cut it on a regular basis! My father had that same hair.
So....between your mom and dad, who do you take after most and why?
