I agree. This (for once) turned into a discussion about something different: in this case, who people aspired to be.

I can understand if the moderators felt the content of the original post did little to justify having a thread all of its own, but on the other hand the thread title did inspire others to reply in kind (and most of the links were to Wikipedia pages, not videos).

It is very jarring to see such discussions in the videos thread suddenly take over the last few pages of this thread, when what people really want to see in the videos thread are funny videos like Saturday Morning Watchmen.

That's what I would like to flipping know, regardless of the fact my original post had a video in it the whole idea of the thread was to see who other people aspire to be like.
RJDiogenes, why did you do this merger because this is flaming ridiculous. My aspire thread has nothing to do with bloody videos. Half the post did not have videos in them and had actual links to pages about the people they aspire to be like.

I'm fuming here.

Funny videos should go in this Thread. If a new Thread is started, it's either closed or merged with this one, depending on the Mod. I always merge them, since I'm such a sweet, lovable guy (although I'm rethinking that).

If anybody wants to start a new Topic that involves a funny video, there should be some content in the original Post to distinguish it from a funny video Thread.

My pardon to those who felt jarred by the merging. Please put down your torches and pitchforks. Usually this merging thing happens quickly and only involves a couple of Posts, but this time it existed for a while before it was noticed. If this happens again, I will take your input into account and simply close the Thread.

Now I hope we can all move on from this dark day and go forward together to embrace the next controversy.
