While Trek has done the start of relationship well, we've never seen one between two main characters break up. It would be interesting to see how they'd handle two characters that have to work together endure a relationship breakdown.
Well, we did see an entire show with two characters working together after a break up... though one that happened in the past (Riker & Troi).

And isn't what you mention kind of what was going on with Trip and T'Pol, though they didn't as much break up as had a never defined on off relationship?

Danara Pel is one "alien babe of the week" I would have welcomed into the Voyager family.

The EMH should have beamed HER aboard, when he beamed the serum over in "Resolutions". Surely she wasn't long for this world after the Vidians found out what she had done?
It's the Love Interest of the Week syndrome. Trek writers usually seemed to think that any romance with a non-main character should be over by the end of the episode and the love interest had to either 1) die, 2) leave/be left behind, or 3) turn out to be a psycho killer or something.

I liked Janeway and Tuvok, not necessarily as lovers, but as close friends who were perhaps more like soulmates (or family members) in a way. I think both would have gone through hell and back for each other, and would say the hell with Starfleet to save one another (ala Star Trek III) if the situation demanded it...

Most of them would ave been medicated to the point of (ironically?) zombiehood, so I doubt the lower ranks couldn't much think rather than beg for pain medication or sleeping pills.

The Denara they had was great, but they had kes' corpse from Fury in stasis in sickbay, and any number of crew could have gotten redshirted after offering to donate parts to denara if they got whacked during the course of the mission that (Thinking of Illyria eating Fred in Angel here.) that her "face" could have been changing from week to week depending on the progress of her disease.

I find it interesting that J/7 is tied with J/Torres.

Not I

I've seen those two shippers duke it out for years now. They have always been about equally popular. :)

I did not know that.

As somebody who never shipped Voy, but who has her mucky little fingers in dozens of femslash comms, I must say you J/7 shippers clearly had the better PR.

From the outside looking in, I'd never have guessed there were as many Janeway/Torres fen.

The answer would still be "no".

Trip and T'Pol under the emergency replacement producers built up a nice little relationship which concluded in the second to last episode of the series with the two of them making out and walking off together hand in hand toward the mood lighting positive about their happily every after together. Then Berman zoned in after a two year holiday and gave all that the flick for no discernible reason to air the worst thing to happen to Star Trek ever since Voy: Displaced.

I paired them up in fanfiction once after they got home. The sound reasoning was that Harry was easier to control than Chuckles. I mean what's the point in having a pet if he keeps pissing on the sofa?

BTW, where's my Harry/Seven option in this poll?

As I already admitted, I started originally with 10 choices, added 4 more, and then 2 more.

Obviously I forgot a LOT! Sorry Harry!

I wonder, is there a limit on how many choices the poll question will allow?

I liked the development of Paris and Torres. The way it took so long made it one of the few arc-like elements of the series. It started officially in early season four, and by Drive they were married, and by the end they had Miral.

Plus, I think their constant arguments were rather funny.

Janeway & Chakotay - Always thought that would be the most realistic relationship to develop given all the time spent together (besides the subtle undertones that were already there).

Early Voyager made Janeway/Chakotay possible but they seem to kill it after 2 seasons. Was there ever a explanation by B&B why they dumped it ?
