You have three votes. Which main characters do you like the most so far? I am curious, if there will be some clear tendencies or if all characters will get similar amount of votes.

Michael Burnham, Paul Stamets and Sylvia Tilly for me.

Hey, it just dawned on me that we'll be getting a new episode next week. I hope it won't suck. :techman:

I went with :

Lorca
Stamets
Saru

I was kind of mixed on Saru over Tilly but I choose him because he is a new alien and thus we are learning new things about a new culture which feels like a very Trek kind of thing.

I was also tempted to list Mudd and Cornwall but I didn't know if reacurring characters should count.

Tilly, Paul, and Michael, in that order, with Lorca as an honorable mention.

I wonder when they created the character if Tilly if they knew she would be so popular with the fans, or if a lot of the popularity has to do with the actress' portrayal.

For me, the exuberance written into the character is certainly contagious, but I think actress Mary Wiseman's infectiously bubbly portrayal goes a long way towards making that character effective.

I'm pretty sure they knew she would be popular. In fact I think it must have been seen as a lock. The "nerd" character or the "quirky" character in movies and tv shows tend to always be popular. For one thing many people, especially we nerds, can really identify with that kind of personality. She is also sort of functioning as the everyman character as well in that you expect her to see things in the universe much like you or me would. In the past I think that role went from characters such as Bones,Geordi,O'Brien,Quark,Jake, Paris and Trip.

In no particular order, Lorca, Tilly, Burnham. As an aside, these three characters when put together in just about any combination, are always dynamite, IMO.

Honarable mention to L'Rell.
