Which of the Star Trek series had the better opening credits? Was it Classic Trek, TNG, DS9, Voy, or Enterprise?

Although I'm an avowed TOS nut I'd have to go with TNG: I've loved the Jerry Goldsmith music since TMP and feel it best captures the sense of adventure for the show. Not saying there's nothing wrong with the Alexander Courage music, which I think is one of the best pieces of space opera music but the TNG's faster tempo and visuals hits the nail on the head...

Must resist urge to be grammar nazi...

Just like it has the best everything else, best theme goes to DS9 :D And I think both were awesome, they're just different sounds. Maybe I like the second one a little better, but they're both very good. Voyager comes pretty close though. I always loved its OP sequence. TNG's after that, and TOS a distant last. What? No, I didn't forget anything. :shifty:

Voyager. She is the prettiest ship. Flying through a nebula, camera shots moving through a planet's rings, the best (imo) warp out.

DS9, with Voyager as a close second. I like the music for Voyager better, but DS9's visuals are better. I love the wormhole.

I voted...Voyager. I was humming it to myself the other day in line at Wal*Mart. And the woman in front of me turned around and smiled. :)

Voyager. The visuals are pretty and the theme tune's catchy, in fact, the title sequence is probably the best bit of quite a few episodes! Both the TOS and TNG openings are quite stirring and I love the TNG music. DS9's opening was initially a bit slow and stately for me, although it got better when they re-did it in Season 4. I still find the Voyager music more memorable, though. The Enterprise title sequence looks amazing, but the way it only shows American achievements is annoying and then there's that song... I actually quite like the idea of using a pop/rock type song, and I can see why they chose Where My Heart Will Take Me, but it's not very good, is it? Too middle of the road and cheesy, like that dodgy guitar music in the Babylon 5 pilot!

TOS. TNG, DS9 and VOY songs were too stately and anthem-like. And ENT song was just horrible.

ENT "In a Mirror Darkly" opening is awesome, though.

There's something about Kirk's classic, opening monologue that gets me, so that has to be first.

However, the second version of the TNG opening is classic as well. I love it when the nebula is on the screen at the beginning. Overall, the graphics are pretty damn good even to this day. And Stewart's voice rules as well.

Voyager, Enterprise, Deep Space Nine, The Original Series And Lastly The Next Generation.

I'd go with TOS and/or TNG. It at least gave the impression that we were watching something exciting.

As much as I love DS9 (and I really do), both its and Voyager's opening were dull as dishwater. Enterprise was just a bit naff but at least tried something a little different.
