Which Star Wars movies have you seen in theaters and how many times?

Since I was born in 1979 and didn't get really caught up in Star Wars until the mid 90s, I obviously didn't get to see the original trilogy in theaters when they first came out, but, here's what I have seen:

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope Special Edition (1997) - One time
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back Special Edition (1997) - One time
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi Special Edition (1997) - One time
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999) - Six and a half times (the film reel screwed up during the seventh viewing)
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002) - Three times
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) - Three times
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015) - Two times
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) - One time
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017) - One time

What say you?

I was born in 1990 so I obviously didn't see the OT in theaters, but I saw the prequels and the new movies (TFA, RO, TLJ) all in theaters when they came out, and all one time in the theaters.

Saw the original on first release.

Didn’t see ESB first time out as my mother, who brought us to the cinema at that time, didn’t like ANH and didn’t want to see it. Saw it as a re-release as part of a double bill with ANH about 1982, but I only saw the last 10 mins or so of ANH.

Saw Jedi on its release.

Saw all of the special editions.

Saw all of the prequels twice in the cinema.

Didn’t go to the 3D TPM (as far as I remember they didn’t release the others in 3D for the cinema but if they did, I didn’t see them either).

Have seen both sequel movies and RO twice. I’d like to see TLJ again but am unlikely to.

I saw all of them in the theatres in their first-run. Number of viewings:

Eps I-VI: once
Ep VII: four times
RO: twice
Ep VIII: three times

I also saw the re-releases of IV-VI special editions when they came out... (as well as the original airing of the SW Holiday Special...).

The increased number of viewings for TFA, RO, and TLJ are due to my daughter, who wasn't around for the previous movies! In fact, I was the same age for ANH's release as was she for TFA's release.

I've seen everything since the Special Editions once in theaters. As a general rule I only see a movie once in theaters, if I want to see it again I'll just wait until it's home media release.

All of them. I saw ANH about 16 times (it maybe be a few more than that) in the theater. One of those times was when it was re-released and another time was the Special Edition. I can't remember how many times I saw Empire though i know I saw it on the first release and the SE version but I can't recall if I saw it anytime in between. Ditto for Return of the Jedi. I saw the prequels, TFA and TLJ just once.

one of the reasons why I've seen ANH in the theaters so much is because one time I saw it 4 times in a row. Back then it was easier to see movies multiple times without paying for it. We just hung out in the theater between showings and walked in again no problem. As time went on it got harder to do that.

Return of the Jedi on its original run then every subsequent movie from then once at the theatre.

All of them, if we're including the '97 Special Edition re-releases (I was born in '86). I saw TPM, ROTS, TFA and RO twice, and TLJ three times, the rest of them once.

I saw the special editions in the nineties. Star Wars was new to me then, I’d not paid any attention before.

Saw phantom menace on its opening night in the same empty theatre as my wife, it turns out, but I didn’t meet her for another three years or so. True story.

Missed attack of the clones, but saw Revenge of the Sith.

Had to wait for the DVD with The Force Awakens and Rogue One, but did see Last Jedi in 3D, but at two and half hours, it proved too long for a five year old so didn’t enjoy it as much as I might have.

It’ll be DVD again for the next one, unless the babysitter tree bears fruit this year.

I was born after the original trilogy and my parents didn’t take me to see the Special Editions. Saw the prequels, I think I saw AOTC twice. I’ve seen the sequels twice each and Rogue One once.

I saw all of them in their initial theatrical release except for Rogue One. The Empire Strikes Back was the only one I saw in theatres twice (first in '80 and again during the '82 rerelease).

I've seen them all (yes, even Battle for Endor & Caravan of Courage!) in the cinema at one time or another from 1980 onwards but without a doubt the best was the triple bill showing in '83.

My brother and I wanted to see the Ewok movies but they never reached our local cinema. I’ve actually never seen them.

Saw Episode 4 Special Edition, and all the prequels and everything after.

Saw Episode I at the Chinese theater. Was so hyped up, crowd cheering and giving standing ovations every 5 minutes throughout the movie. Only after I left the theater did it cross my mind that I just watched an awful movie.

I've seen all of them at the cinema, including the Clone Wars pilot, the Special Editions and the Phantom Menace 3D release.

I saw the film that is now annoyingly known as A New Hope thirteen times at the cinema when it was first released...

All of them, starting with a double feature of Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back when I was 5. The only one I went to more than once was Revenge of the Sith because I thought it would be a while before another one came out. Turns out it was only 10 years until the next one.

^ Only 3 if you count the TCW film.

I thought those were 'TV movies'. They were actually shown in theaters?
