Lower Decks. The writers pack an insane amount of development into literally half the time the live action shows get, and pay it off better than PIC or DISCO. Plus, I would die for Tendi.

TAS because to me it's an extension of TOS. It gave us background and insight into Spock's character. It opened up the possibility of connecting Trek to Larry Niven's "Known Space" universe. We got more non-humanoid aliens that wouldn't have been feasible in live action for TOS. Sure, the execution was uneven, and the animation was rough. But I just write that stuff off as being a stylized depiction of events that actually occurred in the Trek universe.

Between the two current animated shows, so far I enjoy Lower Decks more. Prodigy hasn't quite grabbed me yet.

For me it is Star Trek: The Animated Series, but Lower Decks is a very close second, and I could see it being at the top spot if it continues to be excellent.

    More of a 1A & 1B situation for me.

Though they all have their moments.

Lower Decks has been the most enjoyable watch for me.

TAS is fine for what it is.

    Prodigy isn’t my thing.

Prodigy by at least 70,000 light years. It’s a really good Star Trek show, regardless of whether or not it”s animated. My kids love it, which doesn’t hurt either.

TAS is good from a story perspective, but the quality of animation is so low and cheap that it’s hard to elevate it.

LD is….fine I guess. Really uneven and inconsistent. I watch it. That’s about it.

TAS. Not even a contest. It was a proper follow-up to TOS, and unlike so many ST series to follow, it enjoyed great scripts and never forgot what the essence of ST was.

Agree.:vulcan: TAS was the continuation of TOS five year mission.

    1. Lower Decks. It's so much fun with great character stuff going on.
    2. Prodigy. Surprised at how much I enjoy this, it's REALLY good stuff.

    3. TAS. It's my least favourite Star Trek series in general. Everything that made TOS what it was somehow was lost in animated translation. There wasn't an episode of the captivating TOS that was a slog to get through where, at half the run time, TAS is a huge struggle. Somehow, they magically made Shatner, one of the most energetic and charismatic actors ever into such a bore.

The only way for me to watch Prodigy is illegal, and that is not something I prefer.

Lower Decks has the TNG/DS9/VOY/ENT era of Star Trek vibe. That should say enough.

TAS..... Never really got into it, maybe I should give it another shot.

Same. Maybe watch one of the higher-rated episodes.
