It's very enjoyable, even if I feel it takes too many digressions at times. But it's hardly unusual for Eco. I had the opportunity to see him a couple of times at my university. Good man, if a bit too full of himself. My favourite book by him is still The Name of the Rose. Awesome stuff.

But it's a very clever book, too clever for my level actually. But I'm sure that Goliath will enjoy it, for some reasons

I had to skip all the latin pages, it annoyed me a lot.

If you ever come to Toronto, make sure you visit Robarts Library at the University of Toronto. I have heard that it was Eco's inspiration for the labyrinthine monastery library.
