Which show has the best music in the opening?

I searched and didn't find a thread like this... sorry if it already exists...

IMHO, voyager has the best theme music, even if i'm not that much of a fan of the show (haven't seen much but i haven't really liked what i've seen). i like the song in Enterprise's opening, but it's just not star trek to me, you know?

so what do you guys think? which show has the best opening music?

is this one of those trick questions? TOS..by far.

It's my least favourite Trek (although I've not seen Enterprise), but the Voyager theme is great - somewhat similar to the DS9 theme but more stirring. In fact the opening titles as a whole are great, they really conjure up a sense of adventure and the awesomeness of space travel that the show often failed to live up to.

I couldnt hum a single note from any of the modern-trek...

But the love music they play with Spock and the blond chick on that spores planet? Im humming it now!!!

TOS wins this. The others just have that moronic PAD music

TOS is a cultural icon. A few notes of that one, and almost anyone, trek fan or not, can name it. TNG had a more regal feel to it in my opinion, which from what I've heard was kind of what they were trying to go for with the design of the Ent-D. Enterprise opening theme was a good song, but it didn't feel trek to me. I captured the essence of what many feel trek is about, but it didn't seem to fit with trek to me, atleast not as an opening theme. DS9 and VOY I think had the best opening sequence from both and audio and visual standpoint. Both peices were very commanding, and the cinimatography simply fit the music better then the other shows had been able to do.

LOL TOS ranks like dead last for me. When I think of ENT's theme, I think about the theme they played over the end credits, which I actually like.

I always considered the TNG theme to be too simplistic. There's not really a main theme. More like a memorable background part.

Agreed. Particularly the slower version in the first three years. I never cared for the jazzed up version that was done when Worf joined the show.
