Which ship is yours?

If you are a Starfleet captain, and you got to choose your own ship, what would it be and why? Elaborate as much as you want. Oh, and any era.

Personally, i'd pick a Nebula Class with a Tactical/Sensor pod and go for a deep space exploration mission. To me, it is an excellent ship with decent defensive capabilities, and it looks cool. And a pod that can be changed depending on the mission, very smart!!

Either that or a little Nova.

I would go with Intrepid class. Max speed of 9.975, lots of firepower, cuts out all the extra junk on the Galaxy class models but still very capable of scientific missions, unlike the Defiant. Plus it has spiffy pivoting nacelles! The bio-neural circuitry upgrades over the duotronic circuits, the EMH and the durability also big pluses to me.

it would have to an ambassador class starship in the era of enterprise c. the design looks a lot better then the excelsiors and yet is similar to the tos enterprise in functional stuff like exploration and defense with out looking like a hotel like the galaxies do

U.S.S. Wraith NX 97511 Wraith class starship. A modified version of the Defiant class in use with Starfleet Spec Ops as a 'stealth' starship. it's not equipped with a cloak, but is extremely hard to detect, partly cuz it's painted black and usualy runs with its lights off...

IF it were the TNG era, I would say a NOVA class or maybe a Rhode Island type NOVA variant. I've always liked the look of it PLUS by the time the 23rd century is almost overwith it would probably already be refitted with the latest in starfleet tech! Which would make my life as a starfleet captian that much easier.

Go with a smaller, cosier ship. Probably take the Nova over the Intrepid or Oberth because it doesn't look like a spoon or combust if hit with so much as a pebble.

I like that spiffy little Intrepid. A small enough crew, but large enough to where it could still be interesting. Lots of great Starfleet advances. A great looking bridge. And a real big ready room.
Honestly, I wouldn't need to be on deep space exploration. I'd be happy puttering around the Federation. There's still lots of interesting stuff to see there, and I wouldn't be shot at or attacked by aliens every week.

Probably is - indeed we see an EMH on the Sovereign class Enterprise E. EMH isn't a dealbreaker for me; just a nice feature not included on previous ships.
