No, I am not saying what people should like or not, read please again, what I am talking about. I am kindly asking, how can you do not like the base, which establish the Trek universe and it's cosmos and rules and you say again I like the others which are built on exactly this universe with their rules. It is paradox. Without TOS the other shows/films/characters would not even exist.
Well some people out there don't like the 1960s production values. Some don't like the dated/cheesy acting.

Which I can understand very well, so I tried the '60's Doctor Who and I had some problems to keep my concentration, but I watch all the episodes from Eccleston incarnation to today and I think I can talk/know about it more than "average Doctor Who watcher". Does it make me fan of Doctor Who? I do not think so.
Acc. to Webster Dictionary a fan is someone:

1 : an enthusiastic devotee (as of a sport or a performing art) usually as a spectator
2 : an ardent admirer or enthusiast (as of a celebrity or a pursuit) science-fiction fans

Not a partly admirer or a being little bit devotee. No, we are talking about absolutism.
I am trying to understand this people, and I still do not get the concept. I would really appreciated , if someone who experienced despite not liking/watching TOS call her/his self as a fan, could tell how it works.

Well, as I said before I didn't watch the show, so I cannot say, if the show is dark or not. Nevertheless, it is the meaning of my Trekkie people, whose not always agree with me about ST aspects, but I believe in their objectivity. Some of them really like Discovery, but they also say crew is not classical crew that we know who have at least respect each other or any kind of identifiable. If I am honest, I could borrow Blurays and watch the show (so I shouldn't pay the money for CBS), but as I heard despite what they say at the beginning about Enterprise and Spock they will have them at the second season, I gave up the idea. And I am not sure, if I buy overcaring Sarek for unknown adopted sister of Spock.
I bet if you gave it a try, you might find it fascinating. There's reasons for some of the darker tone which are actually linked to the overarching plot, and it's a journey to redemption and toward a lighter tone. If you keep that in mind, you can enjoy it as a "journey," and not as a permanent destination.

Can I just say, as a matter of preference, that I hate when these polls have multiple vote options. It really screws up the outcome.

I was certain that TOS would have gotten the most votes, I still wanted to know by how much.

This board slants towards DS9. It used to slant heavily towards DS9. But I'm guessing the Kelvin Films and distance in time from the Berman Era brought more Pro-TOS people into the mix. So now, as far as TrekBBS goes: it's TOS/DS9, with TNG bubbling underneath, then the rest.

VOY, ENT, DSC, and anything else afterwards will be constantly duking it out for the next spot. Maybe not the Picard Series because it'll have a lot of Pro-TNG Support.

Nah, just viewing the poll numbers indicate there's a lack of interest in propping up the same thread over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again.

These threads has become white noise to a majority of members on the TrekBBS, for many all Trek is their favorite and can't really choose one from the other.
