I went with season 5 because I saved the most episodes of that season on my computer out of the other seasons. Though, each season had it's ups and downs.
I chose Season 6. Overall my favorite seasons are Seasons 3 and 4, however Season 6 was a great season for overall character development and interaction.
Put me in the 3 crowd, almost every episode is a total home run for me (except 4 - The Bonding, The Price, Menage a Troi, and A Matter of Perspective - which is pretty good for a 26 episode season!). But the highs of the other episodes more than outweighs the lows of those 4.
Haha, yeah, and Worf is my favourite character, too!
I think it's mostly the actor who portrayed Jeremy, something about him I'm not too fond of. Also couldn't stand him in Robocop 2.
Good call in seasons 3 and 4 being one continuous awesome season, though, 4 is a very close 2nd for me, with zero episodes I don't hate in the season, but the good episodes weren't AS good as the ones in season 3 for me.

When I tally the episodes that I think are exceptional, per season, it just wins out. There may be half a dozen in there that are among the best Star Trek productions of all time
Also, not many can be both a Summer *and* a Winter, but I feel that John de Lancie pulls it off nicely.
More seriously, Season 5. This was a surprisingly hard call for me, because other seasons contained single episodes that I value almost as much as the entirety of Season 5 - "Parallels" in Season 7, "Galaxy's Child" in Season 4, "The Most Toys" *and* "Yesterday's Enterprise" in Season 3 - but ultimately I feel like Season 5 was the most *evenly* excellent of the seasons.
3rd. I consider the 5th and 6th seasons close in a lot of ways, but it's hard to beat what they did in the third year, particularly with how they finished.
Hard to choose, I love the series as a whole, and Patrick Stewart was so prominent in the series; just watching him perform was a pleasure. He is and was Star Trek: The Next Generation.
