Which RED SHIRTS had the shortest & longest career?

BIXBY - While you make a very lucid and arguable point, for those who think with Vulcan-like cleverness,... it is FOXHOT's question and he must rule.

Hey look, I was clever too, trying to draw in RED SHIRTS from a visiting Starship into my 'winning' answer,... but alas,.. it was not to be.

'Classic Guard',... yep, that's the 'wiggle-room free" definition.

And so it goes BIX

FOXHOT - Okay pal, their time is up,.... I am going to chime in with my answer for your other great question:

Total Number of Enterprise Crew Deaths: 55

If I am correct, by YOUR count,.. don't congratulate me too fast,...

And if wrong,... well, at least I my entire crew didn't die THIS time.

FOXHOT - Well the thing is, I really can't take credit for it, as it was something I knew, it was a statistic I read way back when, and simply recall the number 55 - associating it mentally to the old National Speed Limit, so it was not an 'HONEST' win.

I am wholly surprised by the lack of at least GUESSES on that one,... I mean what a great thing to know about serving on the Enterprise.

I wonder statistically how the mortality rate on the Enterprise compares to other 'High Risk' jobs in our real world??????????

I think I dropped a post,....

FOXHOT - While you are doing your calculations,... I will throw this one out for opinions:

What was the most horrible, gruesome, terrifying or revolting, shocking, or just pain 'beat' RED SHIRT (classic guard) DEATH?

I was thinking 'Classic Guards', being anyone on any type of sentry duty, combat duty, or escort duty... not just ANY crew death,.. that's too broad and a different question.

In other words, what generic 'Red Shirt' guy, placed in the story for the purpose of 'biting the big one before our eyes', got the worst method of execution.

FOXHOT - Was that the Red Shirt who bites it in the Teaser, and gets hit by, what,... a Photon Mortar blast. or some such energy weapon?

Okay then, but what makes that particular death so awful to you?

As for me, I think falling into the Bottomless Pit in 'What Are Little Girls Made Of?' the most horrifying.

The sheer volume of terror from falling through the dark at terminal velocity (assuming one does not have a heart attack or smack into the pit walls on the way down) without sleep or the chance to rest, or a break from the torture,.. until one starves to death within 5 to 7 days just makes me want to hide under a bed LOL!

FOXHOT - That was an incredible post! Thanks for taking the time to do the break-down.

Very clever with filling in the unknown names too LOL!

I am not sure I understand your new question, but if I understand it, I am guessing either you mean:

1) The VERY skinny Red Shirt who was turned into a dodecahedron and then restored by the Kelvins.

or

2) My old pal Galloway (whom I phasered quite nicely) and then returned as Johnston in Day of the Dove.

?

Holy Smoke! That Lemli guy is in like a dozen episodes! I just read the wiki on him, and I am going,.. 'yeah,.. that's right,.. yeah,.. that's right too",.. but the thing is,... I NEVER noticed this guy,.. In 40 years of watching this show, it never dawned on me that this guy was hanging about all the time LOL!
