As so many of you have already said, I love ALL the scores.
But I have a sweet spot for "Star Trek V"...Goldsmith's score makes up for a lot of the
films shortcomings (bad SFX, silly scenes).
If anything was unique about "The Final Frontier" it was Luckinbill's turn as Sybok and
Goldsmith's inspring music.

TMP is glorious. In fact all the Goldsmith scores are great. I have a special fondness for Generations though. Dennis McCarthy really went for it after having been shackled somewhat by the TV show's restrictions.

I voted for "Undiscovered County", but give honorable mention to "The Search For Spock"-

Wore out TSFS cassette in '83!

Also: The music of Kirk climbing El Capitan in TFF was really, really terrific~

Yes, "The Mountain" was the first of Jerry Goldsmith's lyrical Star Trek themes. It set a trend for him that lasted the rest of his association with Star Trek, and gave us the First Contact and Insurrection credit themes, which were among the best parts of both of those movies.

I had the TSFS cassette too man---I think it snapped during a rewind after about 1 millions plays.

Agreed re: the score for TFF. Specific aspects of it were re-used right through the last NextGen movie, particularly the soaring "bum bum" starting off the end credits music. I recall that when I saw it in the theatre back in '89, there were cheers at the beginning over the use of the TMP / NextGen score.

The First Contact theme really stands apart for me in terms of movie themes in general. Jerry Goldsmith rarely disappointed with his scores but I remember seeing First Contact in theaters and (much like Undiscovered country -- my runner up) it established an emotional context for the film I was about to see. The First Contact theme, aside from being beautiful, strikes chords of friendship, family, and a noble dignity that embodies the crew of the starship enterprise, and Goldsmith also created a good musical language for the Borg.

Trying to pick a favorite out of this lot is pretty hard to do since there's so many great ones, but the ones I listen to the least: Voyage Home and Generations.

Not a TMP fan at all, but it's the best score in the franchise without question, and one of the best scores of all time in general. It's beautiful music you can just put on on its own. I listen to Ilia's Theme all the time. And of course it gave us the majestic TNG theme.

I'll give shout outs to II, III, IV, and 09 too.

I played my Star Trek V cassette so many times, The Moon's A Window to Heaven actually went to Heaven.

I'm going to be the dark horse and say ST09 or STID. There's something about the way Giacchino does emotional themes that I really love.

Same here ST 09 and Into Darkness are my favourite scores, First Contact is my 3rd favourite and The Undiscovered Country my 4th.

I like physical media so am wondering if TMP is available at all.

Generations, TWOK, TSFS, and TUC all have sublime scores. Insurrection is easily my favorite TNG-era score with some soulful interludes (even if Generations had the better battle suspense and scene music pieces).

Hard choice. Is a 3-way tie acceptable? If so then I'd go for TWOK, TUC, and TSFS. "Stealing the Enterprise" pretty much is what elevates TSFS just above Generations, which had some phenomenal dogfight and crash music...

First Contact has the best theme even though the rest of the music is kind of understated. The 2009 film has some excellent music all the way through.

Oh, this is so easy: Goldsmith's gargantuan, room-shaking, otherworldly, BLARING Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Can anyone honestly name me a movie score that takes the listener to so many strange, dark places as this old Jerry music did?
