Which movies do I need to see?

^I don't think that follows. Nemesis and Star Trek (2009) are very different films in their style, tone, and content. I don't see how fondness for ST'09 could possibly be predictive of fondness for NEM (particularly given that ST'09 is a vastly more popular film than NEM).

Agreed. Nemesis and Star Trek '09 are literally like chalk and cheese.

Well, not literally, because then they would actually be chalk and cheese. Using "literally" to emphasize a figurative phrase is a contradiction in terms.

Thank you so much for the alacrity of your response reference my borderline imbecilic error - it's really just too good of you to step in like that.

No matter which ones you watch, do it with friends. We used to throw Star Trek parties right before the release of a new movie. We'd watch every movie IN SEQUENCE and then go see the newest one.

I'd say play TWOK, TSFS and TVH on one night, serve popcorn and snacks and enjoy yourselves. Trek should be a shared experience!

Yes, those three make for a highly enjoyable movie night! I usually throw in "Space Seed" before the main show.

And if they owe you money... make them watch Insurrection and Nemesis over and over til they pay you back!

2,3,4,6,8, maybe 9, 11. Those are the good ones, with 9 being the worst on my list.

all of the films have at least two or three really good scenes. so see them all. forget the lows and enjoy the highs

Actually they had to make the blood pink to avoid an R rating.
Why the blood is Pepto Bismol pink is a subject of debate. In his memoir, Nick Meyer says it was a decision he made, and one he regretted (color wise), and nothing to do with the rating.

I need to see The Expandable Movies. It is Certainly a Great film, but an enjoyable slice of surprisingly High key, classic action filmmaking complete enjoyable mercenaries on a mission of redemption adventure with a mix of testosterone fueled camaraderie and this time it's personal seriousness.

All TOS movies are better than the Abrams Trek disaster.

TNG movies...eh. I enjoy Generations for what it is. First Contact is awful, Insurection is forgettable and Nemesis is pretty equal to Abrams Trek. So if you love Abrams Trek you'll probably enjoy Nemesis.

I would have to disagree. The Abrams Trek is easily one of the best Trek movies. Really only WOK is better although I do have a soft spot for TMP.

As has been said here repeatedly, it is all a matter of taste. I'm not a fan of Abrams Trek, but many others are. I think TFF is a decent, if flawed, film. Many think it's outright awful. Even Nemesis has its supporters around here.

My recommendation? If you're new to the Trek films, watch them all. Make your own judgment.

The only thing I'd say regarding the TNG films (films 7-10) is that it sounds like you haven't seen the TNG episodes yet. I would highly recommend that you give TNG, the series, a chance on its own and not judge it on the merits, or lack thereof, of the TNG films.

I agree yet again as another poster and myself has stated. Watch a couple of seasons of TNG to get the "feel" of it.
I also agree on TFF, I am watching it at the moment on SyFy. I still enjoy it.:techman:
