Which Mountain Dew is for you?

I'm looking forward to the real original, Mountain Dew Throwback. The Pepsi version, too.

They're both going to be sweetened with natural sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup.

Only for a limited time, though. Unless it flies off the shelves, of course.

Fascinating. I wonder if it'll taste any different.

In California, some stores import Cokes from Mexico because they use sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup. When you taste them side-by-side, the sugar ones are definitely better.

There's another link there for Pepsi Natural, which seems to follow the "as few ingredients as possible" trend. It sounds pretty good.

Although, come on, it's 2009 ... would it have killed them to call it "Pepsi Perfect?"

I actually really can't stand Mountain Dew. I love Sprite and 7-Up and I have people tell me all the time that they are basically the same as Mountain Dew so I should like that one too. They are nothing alike! Mountain Dew is like an assault on my mouth and stomach. It tastes way too...I'm not really sure what the word is. But it's too much of it. It also gives me serious digestive problems and makes me have to pee every 5 minutes.

Tried Mountain Dew a couple of times in the US, but I couldn't bring myself to like it. When it comes to fizzy drinks I basically like what I grew up with, plus one or two new additions like Fanta Lemon. Mountain Dew really didn't appeal to me, though.

Awesome. I was really happy when the iced tea I drink started using sugar instead of corn syrup. It doesn't leave that gross taste in your mouth afterward.

And I frequently get mine without HFCS. Some convenience stores around here sell glass bottles of Mountain Dew, Dr. Pepper, Crush, and Cheerwine made with real cane sugar.

This is about the flavors... diet or caffeine free or otherwise is irrelevant in this poll.

Caffeine is irrelevant? Irrelevant? My friend, that's the ONLY reason I've ever found for drinking Mountain Dew. And in MY DAY, before all these "energy" drinks came out, we only had it in its original flavor, and we were damn glad to have it. No one drank it for taste. It was consumed in large quantities for effect during finals week or to stay awake for writing term papers (on typewriters!), or for long car trips.

Although I will admit that anecdotally, I've noticed the Dew seems quite popular in the southern U.S.

None of the above. Soda has no nutritional value and tons of calories not to mention most of it is sickeningly sweet. And I don't drink caffeine, so that one doesn't float it for me either.

I'm kind of a water, juice, tea guy.
