Lord of the Rings probably comes out on top as a almost perfect trilogy (better with extended versions). However Toy Story and Back to the Future are also virtually perfect trilogies IMO.

I always thought that the extended LOTR films are fine movies that could use editing to keep the pace up! That's why I actually find myself leaning to the theatrical versions. i like all the additional detail and effort etc, but a new scene always sticks out, and feels added. Like the whole conversation with Saruman in the third film.. it feels superfluous despite that Christopher Lee is always fun and people want to know what happened to him, it adds very little to the narrative thrust, and always has me asking "you guys got two cans and a string.. you might hear each other better!"

I also give a third huzzah to including the Star Trek trilogy of 2-4.
Also Indiana Jones, that just seems a blatant omission in the choices.

Oh! Blade! You forgot the Blade trilogy! (Granted, I would have a hard time voting for it. Blade Trinity drags down the average too much.)
I rather like Trinity but bringing up Blade means, what about the X-Men trilogy? What about Spiderman?
If Star Wars counts then what about Rocky, all 6 films are one big arc there as well.

For the sake of the poll I voted Back to the Future.
