Which/how many episodes have been remastered?

Well, if you go here:

http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/news/article/2305413.html

you can see the schedule of broadcasts for the entire 2007-08 season. Just find the current week, and every episode listed after that (not counting reruns) has yet to be completed, or at least aired. Keep in mind that they aren't being broadcast in order, but they are being released to DVD in season order, so when an episode is aired doesn't necessarily correspond to when the actual remastering and new FX creation (which are two completely separate things, despite the pervasive misuse of the word "remastering" that's caught on over the past year-plus) are completed.

According to the list, there are 30 episodes left that haven't aired yet, although 6 of them are first-season episodes that have been released on DVD.

The Entire first season, of course, has been completed. Hence the HD DVD release. Many First Season eps remain to air, however.

I think Okuda and his team just passed the 50 mark, if you include the teaser/preview shots of some of the changed scenes in episodes like "Court Martial," which isn't supposed to air for some time.

^^But remember, it's already been released on DVD, along with the rest of the first season.

Like I said, there are 24 remaining second- and third-season episodes yet to be aired, out of a total of 80 (counting "The Cage" and both parts of "The Menagerie"). Actually 23, since this week's may already be airing in certain markets. And presumably the team is at least a few weeks ahead of the airing schedule. So the number of completed episodes is probably around 60 at least.

That one's going to rock. I can't wait to check it out. With those wargame and battle sequences and the chance to create an all new SS Woden freighter from scratch this one might be even cooler to watch than "The Doomsday Machine."

Maybe. Possible, knowing how fond TREK both old and new usually is of rehashing old effects and footage.

But the dialogue in the episode seems to indicate the Woden is a very old freighter that no longer has a crew and is on remote control/automation. I'd use a 22nd century/ENTERPRISE design. Maybe one of the old warp freighters of the style Travis and his family tooled around on. Something definitely old and obsolete.

I'd love for them to use an NX-01 class ship as the old-freighter. Just string some cargo containers under it... and voila!

But that would justify the claims that Enterprise is canon...

:D

(joking)

Or just reuse the digital wire-frame model of the ECS Horizon or Fortunate and tweak it a little to show the passage of another century of time. Make it more battered and aged-looking.

Which Season 1 eps haven't aired yet as Remastered ?
I would imagine that Season 3 has been near or is fully completed and the art department is at work on Star Trek 11. TNG will be remastered eventually and so will the other shows. If the next film does well then there will be another film with an eventual return to tv. I imagine a Trek miniseries could air once in a while to keep interest alive between films.

I count 51 as having been aired to date, including the last and most recent one("Armageddon"). That leaves 29 to air in syndication before the entire series is finished.

29 left to air. As some have pointed out, there are some first season episodes that haven't aired, yet the HD DVD set is already out.

If there are any that haven't been remastered as yet, it's probably a very small number.

The next new one to air is "Day of the Dove" on the weekend of the 5th. Can't wait to see what they did to Kang's D7 cruiser and how the Enterprise destroys it with its phasers.

If they leave the Phaser shots in the edited syndicated version (at one time they cut the Phaser shots and D7 destruction scene, and let Kirk's line to Scotty about preping to destroy it explain to the audience it was in fact destroyed).
