Which Godlike beings would be the best at guiding humanity?

The Organians were relatively benign, but also didn't seem all that interested in shaping anyone. If Kevin Uxbridge was a good example of the Douwd, then they appear to have a pretty centered moral compass as well. Just don't murder any of their wives.

But if Q is to be believed, what would be the point of following any of them? According to him, humanity is already well on its way to becoming just that.

For all the entities we've seen I'd say the Prophets. They're the only ones who are both nice to people and not obnoxious tricksters. At worst they'll leave you alone, at best they'll protect you and guide you to a personal catharsis.

The Founders don't hurt people who go along with them? The innocent civilians in the Cardassian city they blew up beg to differ. It's true if every single person on your planet goes along they might not hurt you, but if there is a single troublemaker they will punish your entire civilization.

I'd go with Nagilum. Why? It'd be harsh, but we'd advance alright. I'd think he'd have a viewpoint not unlike the Shadows in Bab-5: evolve through conflict, or die. I like that.

I don't know if Nagilum's powers extend much outside that pocket universe he was operating in (or through?), but most folks consider him in the "godlike" club.
