Which film character's death moved you the most?

Any dog who ever died in a movie. Old Yeller. The dogs in Where the Red Fern Grows (I came out of the theatre bawling after that one). The peddler's dog in Lassie Come Home. There were others, but these come immediately to mind.

The death of the father,Guido, in "Life is Beautiful." Buckets of tears.
Archy in "Gallipoli."
Qualye, and his funeral, in "The Constant Gardner."
Little Scottie in "Testament." If this movie doesn't make you weep, there's something wrong with you.
The Mom in "The Descendants." Seeing the little girl cry over her mother did me in.
Ellie in "UP."
Thomas in "My Girl."
John Coffey in "The Green Mile."

Bing Bong from Inside Out. He was kind of a stupid character, but when he met his demise the movie was getting into the sad part and the message of the movie was becoming all the more clear.

Also agree with Ellie from Up, a movie that was just on the other night.

Paul's death at the end of 'All's Quiet on the Western Front, Chris's off-screen death in Stand by Me, Boromir in Fellowship of the Ring, and Darth Vader taking his mask off.

Though the corker would have to be Charlotte dying in Charlotte's Web. I was four years old, and it was the first fictional death to ever really 'click.' It. Was. Devastating.

Solo. You saw it coming but it was still a kick in the nuts.

Tracy in On her Majesty's Secret Service. Whatever else you might say about George Lazenby as an actor (although I happen to like him) he really sold Bond's shocked reaction to her death.

Pretty much all of the deaths in the Harry Potter films. Especially Snape, and especially in the scene after his death when Harry is viewing his memories. Such a tragic life, and a strong moment of realization for Harry - he's found it difficult to be the hero in the spotlight, but it's even harder to be the hero that no one recognizes as such.

I was thinking more along the lines of: 'Is the thread title itself enough of a spoiler warning to address the '1 year' rule?'

I have a list of ten which I will list below

1) Ash Ketchum (Pokemon: The First Movie)

2) Aayla Secura (Star Wars: Episode III)

3) The Band (Titanic)

4) The girl in the Red Coat (Schindler's List)

5) Peter Preston (Wrath of Khan)

6) D'Artagnan (Man In The Iron Mask)

7) Ka D'Argo (Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars)

8) Hagman and Harris (Sharpe's Waterloo)

9) Harry Stamper (Armageddon)

10) Susumu Kodai (Space Battleship Yamato)

If allowed one moment from television, I would pick the "death" of the Inner Scouts from Sailor Moon
