He wanted people who would go out of more than just loyalty.

So? All that proves is that he values his old crewmates’ lives over his new crewmates. Prime example: when Raffi essentially loses her relationship with her Starfleet captain friend in order to give Picard what he wants, what does Picard do? Claps his hands at her performance. He doesn’t even apologize to her for losing her friend on his behalf. Total dick move.

So if Worf shows up in command of a starship, if I were Raffi, I’d say, “Hey JL, you had a friend still in Starfleet who could have helped you. Why’d you ruin my life over his?”

I'm thinkin' that Raffi pretty much needs to take the blame for the current state of her life and that deep down, she knows this.
I really rather doubt she would ever say something like that to Picard unless really, really provoked and not drunk as a skunk.
(which she already kinda-sorta did when they first met at her desert home)

It didn't even register in her mind when Jean-Luc applauded her performance with Emmy.
She's so distraught over the rejection of her son that nothing Picard does at this point could ever be as horrible in her mind.

... instead of basically ruining Raffi’s life to get what he wanted.

I'm not sure if you noticed, but Raffi's life wasn't cloud 9 before they embarked on the mission. I don't think it's fair to blame Picard for that.

Wasn’t she dismissed from Starfleet because of helping Picard? It’s a bit ambiguous as to why she’s no longer in Starfleet, but she sure seems to blame Picard for it, doesn’t she?

it seems like that started a downward spiral, but I think it was either established or implied that she got dismissed from Starfleet by her own actions

So that gives Picard the right to ruin other people’s lives for him?

Rios was hired. Jurati "volunteered" under direction from Oh. Raffi only participated on the contingency that she get a ride to Freecloud. Elnor is doing a rite of passage type thing. Point is they all had their own self-interests to be there, and weren't there simply out of loyalty - in fact, the only person Picard specifically recruited was Rios, and he's being paid.

Yeah, Raffi was on Star Fleet's chit list before Jean-Luc came along.
He apparently kept her from being dismissed years ago.
Once he was gone, some Admiral decided that Raffi's obsession with her Romulan Conspiracy Theory and her extracurricular bad habits, weren't worth the bother.
(which was cruel since Raffi had apparently been sober during her entire time with Jean-Luc)

Perhaps it was even Clancy.

We need to see the Enterprise-E and see it go out like a boss, I mean I can't see a Sovereign class, even 30 years later, being de-comissioned. Seemed like a serious ship that is built to last and be refitted a ton. Bit like the Galaxy class, which was probably easily refitted for soldiers and war rather than families and teachers.

Could also potentially lead into an Enterprise-F series after this.

I like both the Sovereign and the Galaxy class but if I am being honest I think the Galaxy class has more utility, adaptability and capacity for upgrades which means it has the kind of potential longevity that we saw with the Excelsior.

The Galaxy class could fill many roles but that cant be said of the Sovereign class which has always felt to me to be a warship more than anything else, just like the Defiant, I like both ships to bits but they are a much more focused design which is why I like them so much.

Hence why I am open to seeing a ship like the Odyssey class which encompasses aspects of both designs, it is big enough to convince as a carrier equipped with fighters, shuttles, even a runabout or two and can easily be used as the main command ship within a fleet.

It is not very likely of course but just seeing the USS Verity (to say I was shocked to see it is putting it mildly) in the non canon comic keeps the door open just enough for me.

If we see an Enterprise it is highly likely that it will be the Enterprise E with Worf in command.

Whatever we are going to get has already been filmed so its just a matter of waiting a few more weeks to find out.

I highly doubt we’ll see the Enterprise-E. There’s nothing to market with that ship. Neither will we see the Odyssey class for the same reason. If we see the Enterprise, it will be a new design. And hopefully Worf will be nowhere near it.

I appreciate your view and I would be fine with that.

However with the amount of fan service we have already had the chances that the class of ship being one we recognise are high plus its cheaper to use existing designs.

Same goes for its Captain, the only issue standing in the way of that is actor availability and interest.

I would think Micheal Dorn or LeVar Burton would jump at the chance, failing that Patrick Stewart could go round to their house and make them an offer they can't refuse.

It is possible that they will save them for later seasons though or maybe just give us a glimpse at the end of the season.

They would have to create a brand-new CGI model for the Enterprise-E, just like they did with the D. The last time we saw it was in 2002 for Star Trek: Nemesis. An 18 year old CGI model will not work today. So there’s no cost difference between making a CGI E than any other design. And if they want to sell merchandise, they’re not going to reuse a design that already has toys, model kits, video games, and any other marketable things devoted to it. They’re going to want new stuff to market. That’s why we got the Discoprise instead of the TOS Enterprise in DSC.

It’s not about actor availability. It’s about how many cameo appearances they feel the need to shove into a ten-episode series without the focus being taken away from the guy the show is supposed to be about.

I am surprised to see a fair bit of anti-Worf sentiment? I’m indifferent to whether or not he shows up (but it does contradict his arc at the end of DS9 but the TNG movies already ruined that) but it’s weird to see fans so against what is at least a fairly popular character. Then again there are some posters here (not you) who are anti-Enterprise which boggles the mind.

My sentiment has nothing to do with Worf. It has to do with showing a former Enterprise crewmate of Picard’s (Worf, LaForge, Riker, Beverly, etc.) who is still in Starfleet and could have potentially helped him with his quest without him resorting to get that help from a physically, emotionally and mentally damaged former officer, just so Picard could keep his former friends out of it.
