The Sovereign class platform could have up to 100 years of service (like the Excelsior class and Oberth) but I doubt the majority of the individual ships do, especially after a major war like we saw with the Dominion as the older platforms would be used as Destroyer screens to protect the more powerful latest platforms in preparation for the counter attack, more often than not it will be accidents, attrition and general wear and tear that will retire them before that happens.

Ultimately the E is getting on a bit now and sooner or later it is going to hit its limit on what can be done to keep it up to date, or it will end up being re-designated due to the launch of larger more powerful platforms, it could be quite a while before that happens of course.

If they stick to the STO timelines it wont happen for at least another decade in universe.

We will probably see the E refit before the end of the season, would love to see the F or any Odyssey class but its unlikely.

Always liked the Galaxy class, its a solid all round platform just like the Excelsior class.

I do think they should add something to the flat area at the back end though, even if its just a couple of flush runabout docks.

Ideal ship to use as a carrier, remove the families to make space for the pilots.

Beautiful! I'd love to have seen a well thought out D refit after getting trashed in Generations (but not yeeted into Veridian III... FFS)

As far as STP is concerned I expect it'll be the Enterprise-E, if anything at all - and I doubt it'll appear so soon (gotta keep some cameos for later seasons! ). Maybe we'll see the Challenger too, if Geordi appears at some point... especially as TPTB are giving so many nods to Voyager.

ETA: It's all about the chocolate frosting
