Which DC comic should be made into an Animated film?

'Red Son'' gets my vote. For one thing I think it being a self contained GN with a distinct beginning, middle and end inherently lends itself well to a feature adaptation. Aside from that there's also the novelty value of having a lot of familiar characters being cast in radically different roles. I'd be interested to see this done with the old DCAU cast reprising their roles. The accents could be a problem though...

Teen Titans - "The Judas Contract". I love the TT cartoon, but would also like to see a more serious take on this story.

Doom Patrol - "The Painting that Ate Paris" - I can imagine some great visuals for this, and seeing the Morrison DP would be fun.

Batman - "Dark Knight, Dark City". I love when Batman gets tangled in the supernatural, and this is one of my favourite Batman story arcs. I'd love to see the combination of noir and horror, perhaps in a similar style to HBO's Spawn series but with a more "muted" look overall. Perhaps "Gothic" (from LotDK) too, in the same vein.

Batman - "The Killing Joke". This would make a great half-hour animated film.

These have all been mentioned already but the what the hell. By the way most of these would take their cue from the Dark night Returns being a two or even three parter.
Superman Doomsday and Beyond. Yes its been done before, but not very well. In fact the best part of the existing DVD was the documentary about the comic Death & Beyond storyline. Death and Funeral would be part one and Reign and Return part two. Not sure about the art style as there were four or five art teams involved, I'll go for Dan Jurgens and Brett Breeding if they had to standardise.
Superman Birthright, with Lenil Yu's art style and issues 1-6 in part one and 7-12 in part two.
Superman the Man of Steel 6 issue mini with John Byrne inspired art (one parter).
Superman For All Seasons.
Knightfall and Beyond. As suggested each of the three parters could have a volume, or maybe it could be a four parter with Knightquest split in two.
Strange Apparitions aka the Steve Englehart run. Animated in the style of Marshall Rodgers and Terry Austin's art (even though the Dr Phospherous two issue opener had a different art team). Leave out the Clayface story at the end, truncate the Dr Phosperous story to the minimum for purely setup purposes and you may get away with a single disc set.
Oh and if you went with Crisis on Infinite Earths, do it as a three or four parter with each disc containing three or four issues.

I want a JSA movie, even though I know it won't happen, unless it is part of a JLA team up. Other than that I would see Crisis on Infinite Earths or Kingdom Come. Or even the Judas Contract movie that was mentioned years ago.

But please DC, I need a break from the solo Superman and Batman movies.

"Time and Time Again," the Superman storyline from 1991, might be a good choice. You'd get the Legion (in three different time periods), the Justice Society, World War II action, and the destruction of the Moon in the 30th-century.

I would LOVE a JSA movie...especially if it could be a period piece. A film with the New Teen Titans would also be great...but you know...DC is hoping that people forget that Donna Troy and Wally West exist.

Generally I agree with the idea that anything would be better than more exclusively Superman or Batman films. DC has a HUGE stable of characters, but ignore everyone that is not in the JLA. I'm sure if Flashpoint does poorly DC will decide that no one likes the Flash even though no one really liked Flashpoint.

Never happen in a million years, but Alan Moore's "Top Ten" needs animation to be best realized. They should put it out in the spirit of Heavy Metal and MTV's Liquid Television.

What about Batman: Hush? I haven't read it yet, but I think I've seen it on several best of lists, and the descriptions I've read online sound really cool.

Starman: Sins Of The Father
JSA: The Golden Age
The Legion Of Super Heroes: The Great Darkness Saga
Superman & Batman: Generations
JLA: Age Of Wonder
New Gods (anything)

That is a brilliant idea! Those are some of the first comics I ever read.

I forgot about this one. As long as it mimics the art style from the series of course. Also again to do it justice it will have to be a two or three parter.
Another one I thought of mentioning was called 'Dark Knight Over Metropolis'. It was a three issue story that appeared in 1990 in Superman #44, Adventures of Superman #467 and #Action Comics 654. Unfortunately there would have to be reference to at least Superman #2 and a couple of other issues as part of the setup to the story which sees Superman and Batman teaming up. Oh and Tim Daly, Kevin Conroy and co would have to provide the voices.

I wouldn't mind seeing some movies focused on some other characters. I know the JLA, Batman, and Superman stuff has been their most popular, but I wouldn't mind something focused on Flash, Green Arrow (the short they did focused on him was great, and I would love a full length movie for him), and Aquaman.

The only thing Hush had going for it was Lee's art. In a lot of ways it was Loeb remaking his own "the Long Halloween." I'd much rather them animate that, especially when you consider the fact that Sale's art-with its strong lines-would probably better translate to animation than Lee's work.
