The doomsday machine or space amoeba. Seriously, discovery needs to do an homage to the space monster episodes

Kirk: Only if they do the Farragut disaster. I don't see any other plausible reason for him to turn up on DSC.

McCoy: Isn't his mission to Capella (alluded to in "Friday's Child") supposed to happen right about now? That could work. Failing that...assuming DSC goes with the novelverse's bit that his father David (from ST V) was also a doctor, I'd love to see David turn up on DSC. Played by Tommy Lee Jones, of course.

Richard Daystrom would be a great idea as well. Carl Lumbly?

Dr. Miranda Jones supposedly spent several years on Vulcan.
She'd be an interesting character to show up.
As Michael Burnham's long lost second cousin twice removed
I imagine that he'd be assigned to a Starbase or Outpost somewhere as its Commander, just because of his grating nature.

He might be charming, we only have Kirk's fantasy to go on. Kirk might have been the pain in the ass.

I don't see any reason to assume Kirk was exaggerating or lying. He's not that type. Besides, the Shore Leave planet concocted the fantasy by directly reading his mind - so he wouldn't even have the opportunity to lie about it.

And if Kirk had been the bully - which also doesn't make sense, since we know he's not THAT type either - there would be no reason for him to have a fantasy about it in the first place. It only makes sense if we take the episode at face value, where Kirk (having endured years of abuse and not being able to do anything about it at the time) longs for revenge.

Who I want to see from TOS:
1. Klingon Bob
2. Helen Noel
3. Finnegan, so the crap can be kicked out of him
4. Garth of Izar (no, I'm not biased, not biased at all... )
5. Cyrano Jones, a.k.a. The Poor Man's Harry Mudd
6. T'Pring
7. Dr. Phillip Boyce, who hates it when people call him Dr. Phil
8. Leila Kalomi, so she can get into a fight with T'Pring over Spock
9. Shahna, a.k.a. Lady Gaga
10. Abraham Lincoln

Chekov was pretty green in TOS, so in the time of STDisco, he would probably be a preteen.
Maybe he could show up and be the next Wesley Crusher and save the day all the time.

I did not state Kirk was lying , I said its his perception that we see of a past event and neither did I say he was the bully.

I think the real question is: which big name actors are Star Trek fans and would be the season's guest star? As soon as we have settled that, what role could Tom Hanks play?

what role could Tom Hanks play?

IIRC, Hanks is indeed a huge Trek fan. There were rumors that he wanted to play Zefram Cochrane in ST:FC but couldn't do it because of his work with That Thing You Do!. Apparently this wasn't the case - I don't think he was ever offered the role.

Sad, really, because he would have knocked it out of the park as Cochrane.

yup, that's why I singled him out. Because his fandom is very well documented and even though he expressed interest in the past never had a chance to be in one of the shows (or a movie)
DSC might be his chance. If DSC can afford both Yeoh and Isaacs, they might be able to afford Hanks if he's willing to compromise, Whoopi-style

It would be a miracle if DSC could ever afford Tom Hanks, but I'd love to see him turn up on the show. Perhaps...Commodore Robert Wesley?

Another idea: Not technically a TOS character as such, but...Michael Palin as Robert April. Probably an Admiral or Ambassador (or both) by DSC's time.

And I'd like to see some of those "rogue captains" from TOS turn up on DSC in their prime. Such as:

- Matt Decker: Brad Pitt or Benicio del Toro
- Ronald Tracey: Robert Downey Jr. or Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Oh, and Nathan Fillion as Garth of Izar (in his prime as well, prior to his madness as we saw in TOS). Just to see how Browncoats would react.

speaking of shippers, there isn’t anyone to ship in this show. :(
Yes I see that. its like tyler and michael never happened. some say they had no chemistry.

That been said I liked Katrina Cornwell and Captain Lorca.
