KIRK: Count off by threes...

If they were going to introduce Kirk, he would have to be a "positively grim" cadet, or Ensign (Is that the same ?)
As we're only about five or six years before WNMHGB, Kirk is likely an XO or even a Captain. My personal theory is Disco is going to be abandoned at the end of the season to tie in with Calypso, and we'll open season three with a small arc of three episodes with Michael and a few others serving on another ship commanded by Kirk before Disco returns from the future.

WNMHGB is set in 2265. It's assumed to be 2257 on Discovery. So we're more than 5-6 years out. More like 8.

Not clear how downtrodden he'd be since he still has an entire great house named for him that has a seat on the council and has featured prominently on the show so far. Although it's possible Kol and Kol-Sha just locked him upstairs, looking down on augment Klingons, and ran the show in his name. Now that they're gone, it's time for Kor himself to show up.

In fact, considering this whole "Remain Klingon" business with L'Rell will probably end in disaster once Voq/Tyler and Voq Jr. are proven alive, Kor can lead an augment revolt with Kang and Koloth and have the augments leading the show once L'Rell is taken down. The Klingons, having been lied to by the previous government, may be willing to let the augments have their shot at doing things, explaining why TOS is full of Augments.

After Kor kills L'Rell, Voq Jr. will leave Boreth vowing revenge for his mother's death, leading him to eventually poison Kor's son and become the Albino.

I'd also love to see Chang and Gorkon, although I don't know if CBS can use movie only characters. And I mentioned interest in a shock twist of having young Kirk as a Section 31 member.

Heh, so that's why he is so prone to breaking protocol, ignoring orders and interjecting himself into everything for the greater good?

Bring in Bele and Lokai. Bele was chasing Lokai for 50,000 Earth years (specifically stated to Kirk to be "fifty thousand of your terrestrial years").

So that means the chase started 47,731 BC. I always thought this line was a bit unrealistic. But it means they can fit in Discovery easily enough.
