She isn't even a retcon. There's nothing about her or anything she has done so far that retcons anything.
It really depends on your definition of retcon.

Season 1 implies that Sarek giving up Burnham's chance at joining the Vulcan Expeditionary Group, so Spock could go, is why he's mad at Spock when he doesn't. That's a retcon according to the original definition. It gave new insight on an event we never had before.

Most people these days use Retcon as meaning something that alters an existing fact, which isn't the original definition.

Sure, then just about anything that anyone says in any episode that alters the significance to any event do any degree makes it a retcon, broadening the meaning to make it useless as a term. Literally any new information about anything could be called a retcon.

I need something which actually conflicts with an objective past event to call something a retcon. We were never told why Sarek was mad at Spock for choosing Starfleet over the Vulcan Science Academy, and that left an incontinuity opportunity to delve into his reasoning.

So yes, like Mary Sue has become a tag for "competant female lead character I don't like" from "Author fantasy insertion character" as retcon has become a tag for "new information I don't like" as opposed to "changing past events to suit arbitrary changes in the current/future storyline."

Since I couldn't note "none", I voted Sulu. I would rather it be a secondary TOS character rather than a primary.

Actually, come to think of it, I'd rather it be a tertiary character. So in the order I'd rather see them:

(1) Mr. Kyle
(2) Kevin Riley. The actor's real age in TOS was 25, so to be a young cadet in DSC Riley would have needed to be older than 25 in TOS. Otherwise, maybe he could be a teenager on Tarsus IV.
(3) Dr. M'Benga. He would be young in the DSC era (17-ish, going by the actor's age, but the character could have been older than the actor.)
(4) Mr. Leslie, who has more TOS episode credits than Sulu, Chekov, or Chapel -- and only 6 fewer episode credits than Scotty. He would also be 18-ish in DSC, going by the actor's age.

I'd also like to see actor Sean Kenney (chair-bound Pike in The Menagerie) play some bit part. Stunt casting? Sure, but so what.

That could be fun. He was an upper-classman, so he would out and about in Starfleet by now. Might even know Pike or the real Georgiou.
I imagine that he'd be assigned to a Starbase or Outpost somewhere as its Commander, just because of his grating nature.

Since they can’t help themselves...its gotta be Kirk right.

They won’t show him but maybe have Discovery respond to a distress call sent by a Lt. Kirk aboard the Farragut after the Captain was killed by the cloud creature.

I kind of hope none of the above. I'd like the Enterprise to go head off on its merry way and let Discovery stand on its own two pylons. But barring that, Ensign Decker who has already been mentioned aboard Discovery (assuming this is Will Decker), or Robert April. I realize those are TMP and TAS characters respectively.

I picked Rand off the list for the same reasons Greg Cox stated. Also picking more female characters off of Enterprise and onto the Disco provides a kind of tongue in cheek reason for the gender imbalance onboard the Big E during the TOS years.

The best chance for a flattering portrayal of one of these characters is if it's a female character, so I vote for Uhura.

Kill off Tilly, and Burnham could mentor Ensign Uhura, and introduce her 'brother'.

She can replace 'No Response' Bryce, who is just a waste of space.

Is 'retcon' meant to be some derivative of "re-contextualizing"? Because I think Lethe did the latter, not the former. Retcon definitely has become a negative term to mean changing an existing canon fact or event in a way that clearly contradicts continuity. An example would be Cmdr Nhan going from an engineering officer in Brother to head of Security in a later episode with no explanation for the change.

Re-contextualizing (as I understand it, I could be wrong) usually offers more information so that past events or facts can be reinterpreted with the new information.

Retroactive continuity. It's when you add to a prior storyline. It's also come to mean altered past events.
A classic example in comics is "The Invaders", a comic team created in the 1970's, but taking place on the 1940's. It added a whole slew of information and backstory to characters like Captain America, the Human Torch and the Sub-Mariner. Prior to that Cap rarely interacted with the Torch and Namor in WWII. The few time they met in modern times, Cap and Namor acted like they barely new each other, then the Invaders made them team mates and friends.
