Which Bridge Station Would You Man???

Where would you like to be stationed on the U.S.S. Enterprise bridge?

I would like to be the Helmsman and Weapons Officer. If any aliens get in my way...Ka-Boooom!!! Blast them to smithereens.

Just for the hell of it, #6 #7 or #8.
Navigation Subsystems, Weapons, or Defense.

Most all bridge scenes were shot from these stations POV, so we rarely got a chance to see them (or the crew that might have manned them).

If not for the sake of planting the camera at those stations, what might it have been like to have those stations manned and working in TOS?

We could have had a regular tactical officer at weapons. We could have had a regular security chief at the defense station. Stuff like that, I guess.

Problem is, that’s the only time the Helmsman had anything exciting to do. Mostly he punched in course coordinates, said “Warp factor one, sir,” and looked at the stars . . . and looked at the stars. . . and looked at the stars.


I’d definitely want to man the science station. Spock got to analyze all the interesting stuff. Plus, I want to know what he was looking at in that scope thingy.

I'd have to pick helm. There MUST be more to it than it appears. Sulu's so awesome that he just makes it look that easy.
Besides, just about any other station I'd have to spend alot of time staring at the wall.

Um...I'll take Engineering. Don't have to do much since Scotty's usually taking care of everything down in the engine room. Near the back of the bridge, so I can watch what's going on with nobody looking over my shoulder. Easy to sneak peeks at Uhura's legs.
