Which book did Christine Vale make her first appearance?

Since I am almost caught up on the TNG stuff, I want to go back in time and start reading before A Time to series... I really stopped reading TNG stuff when this board changed over back in the day. Right around with KRAD had DI coming out. Been a while.

Any help would be appreciated...

Here's the list of her appearances from Memory Beta

The Belly of the Beast by Dean Wesley Smith (SCE ebook)
Gateways: Doors Into Chaos by Robert Greenberger (TNG novel)
"The Other Side" by Robert Greenberger (Gateways: What Lay Beyond) (conclusion of Doors into Chaos)
The Brave and the Bold Book 2 by Keith R.A. DeCandido (TNG/IKS Gorkon novel)
The Art of the Deal by Glenn Greenberg (SCE ebook)
Security by Keith R.A. DeCandido (SCE ebook)
Remembrance of Things Past Books 1-2 by Terri Osborne (SCE ebooks)
Vulcan's Soul: Epiphany by Josepha Sherman & Susan Shwartz (I'm not sure what you would consider this)
A Time to... (mini-series)
Titan (series)
Captain's Glory (Shaternervse)

^ Just to clarify, Vale only makes cameos in The Brave and the Bold Book 2 and The Art of the Deal, and her role in Epiphany and Captain's Glory is small.

The others are all more significant appearances. Both Security and Remembrance of Things Past include flashback material involving Vale as well.

I love her Character. I hope she hangs around in the Titan series.

Thanks, off to buy these on my Kindle. ;)

I'm assuming one of these explains the relationship brought up between her and Corsi in the E-Books?

I was just about to ask when I saw this.

Security is the one that spells out how Vale and Corsi first met, and why a) Corsi was so cold to Vale in The Belly of the Beast, b) Vale credits Corsi with why she joined Starfleet, and c) Corsi first slept with Stevens back in Cold Fusion.

The Vale flashback in Remembrance is to her time on the U.S.S. O'Keefe as a security officer, one of many unpleasant memories triggered by the Krialta.

I loved both Christine and Dominica in that story. They almost make me forget my deep crush on Tasha Yar.

^Yes, please. It's been driving me crazy that we still haven't gotten her on any covers yet. She's gotta be one of the only major characters from the novelverse that we still haven't seen. (I know we still haven't seen the Vanguard characters yet, but I can understand that since their books have been using ships and whatnot instead of people on the covers)

People change their hair color in the future too, I seem to recall a tellerite in a recent story who had gotten pink hair...

Christine Vale changes her hair color in my book (it's bright red throughout) and I've established that she does so on a regular basis. So, end of argument.

And I did write her a big role. She's all over SoD. It's the Vale and Jaza show.

Major SPOILER for....
Star Trek Destiny[/i] trilogy:]Vale's hair will be auburn in all three books.
You have been warned.

You can't change your hair color if you're DEAD!!!!

Except that I also explicitly established that habit in Orion's Hounds and Keith independently did in SCE: Security (I think it was), so there wasn't even an ongoing argument anyway.

Come on, Christopher, surely you don't think a well-established line of fact is enough to settle an argument among Trek fans?

So, the three of you did this independently, rather than consulting each other when writing your individual stories?

Well, it's obvious you don't care about the fans.

Bastards.

I'm never buying another Trek book again unless and until Vale changes her hair back to blonde and leaves it like that. Forever.

NOT. RED.

^ Well, I for one welcome a return to the days when you didn't need to read every book to know what color a character's hair was...
