Whew! I've finally reached the post-Nemesis novels!

Well, I've finally finished the A Time to... series. From what I'd read, it sounds like most feel that the final three novels were the best and I would certainly agree with that. I really enjoyed them all but the final three were fairly fast-paced and high-action. I'm totally psyched because I've finally reached the post-Nemesis novels and will quickly get into Titan and eventually to Destiny. When I started reading the DS9 relaunch after getting my Kindle for Christmas, I never thought I'd make it anywhere near this far in a whole year, let alone with two months to spare, and that was throwing in the Mirror Universe books, the S.C.E. Lovell arc and Vanguard: Declassified for good measure. I may not make it to Destiny this year but I don't think it'll take me long afterwards.

Anyway, it feels like I've reached another milestone on my quest to catch back up with TrekLit and thought I'd share and let everyone, especially all the authors, know what a wonderful ride it's been and how much I've enjoyed it.

I've been a maintenance supervisor for a major auto manufacturer for almost twenty years and I put in about fifty hours a week.

I breezed through the post Nemesis novels through the Destiny series. They really got me back into ST literature.

Yeah, the whole period from the DS9Relaunch through the Destiny seems to have been a golden age for Trek Lit. I know alot of people haven't liked alot of the post-Destiny books, but I haven't really seen a great change in quality myself.

I actually just started this process. I just finished "Death in Winter," but I wasn't too excited about it. I felt the involvement of LaForge and Worf really fell flat, although I understand why it was written in. It was an interesting story, nonetheless, and it has spurred my interest in reading on through the next few novels--not too many novels do that, to be sure.

While I thought Death in Winter was pretty bad, it made me want to know what happened next as well.

I actually just started this process. I just finished "Death in Winter," but I wasn't too excited about it.

I quite enjoyed "Death in Winter" and never really understood the negativity. This was the hardcover that teased that it might feature the first death of a main canonical character, hence the Crusher silhouette on the cover, and the editor's teasing that it was the beginning of a new arc for Picard, and that Crusher would not necessarily take up the Starfleet Medical post, seemingly indicated at the end of "Nemesis", after all. I wasn't expecting participation from the Stargazer crewmembers, either, and Greyhorse was a cool addition to the storyline.
