I think it was present slightly differently in "The Cloud Minders" as well. Then there was that Voyager episode.
 
Am I wrong but wasn't the idea that you have to be telepathic linked something added later? I don't recall that being a thing in "Amok Time?" Basically I think Spock was just really horny and violent and would go into something of a fuge state until it was time to fight or have sex.

As mentioned above - he already showcased such unusual abilities (IE to 'feel' things across vast distances of space) in TOS - "The Immunity Syndrome". So, there's no need to explain wierd abilities the character already showed in TOS.

So they are redoing all the movies! They didn't do TMP, because f&^k TMP

Now they are redoing TSFS!
Next up will be TVH. I swear, if we see an episode of them traveling to "early 21st earth" that will confirm it.
Then they'll need to travel to center of the galaxy to meet some god that needs a ship for some reason (hey with spore drive, they can totally do that)
And after that Praxis will explode and blah blah blah...
 
I did not. But I've spotted Sarek, T'Pring, Amanda and two Saaviks.
ETA: Also Tuvok, Valeris, T'Pol and Surak. And T'Pau
