The same youth that may find the Bond and Batman of the 1960s boring and silly flocked to their reincarnations this decade. I know people who have Batman Begins on DVD and the only actor they can name who played the role besides Christian Bale is George Clooney.
The same, I think, will apply here if the film is a success.
That's a terrific idea, PKTrekGirl. In fact, with apologies to jadcox...
INT. ENTERPRISE BRIDGE - CONTINUOUS
SPOCK pulls the younger KIRK aside and WHISPERS.
SPOCK
Before I return to my own time period,
there is something I must say to you.
You are going to meet a bald Frenchman
who speaks with an English accent in a
nexus....
We do not hear the rest of the conversation.
INT. SPOCK'S HOME - THE 24th CENTURY - DAY
Spock enters, and raises his eyebrow -- the closest to shock his emotional control will allow. PULL BACK to reveal OLD KIRK sitting at his breakfast table, smiling.
OLD KIRK
Thanks for the tip, old friend.
We seem about to fade out when, suddenly, the camera pulls back to reveal that Spock's house is actually nothing more than a movie set. We see cameramen, boom mikes, etc. A director shouts, "cut!" But the camera continues to pull back and pan left, to reveal, seated in a chair well off to the side, older but in his characteristic spectacles, suit, and tie, the movie's true author... BENNY RUSSELL.
FADE OUT
THE END
Ingenious. That's another $50 million in good business sense right there. Finally, the niners will get their kinda-sorta movie.
Also, I'd really like to see Lt. Ayala in this film. But I'm still stumped on how to add him in. Maybe, to go off of LCARS 24's idea, he could be a helmsman aboard Annika Hanssen's Timeship Relativity?
The possibilities are infinite.
Star Trek[/i] '08]Now for the real fun: let's see how many people there are who, in defiance of all logic, continue to take this thread as a serious proposal. I mean, seriously... Morn? Do I really present myself as that unbalanced of an individual?
