I was curious to get peoples thoughts on this. For me I would have thought Beverly would have been the first character to be addressed from Picard's past yet there is no mention of her at all. Seems like the elephant in the room. Do people think she has been killed off/still alive/divorced?

I think she died and that's a large part of what sent Picard into his deep funk. Not just that a mission went bad or that the "unimaginable" happened. The unimaginable happens all the time in Star Trek, so I think it had to be something more. I think she died during that fateful mission.

But that's only a guess I'm making. It would mentally put Picard where he needs to be at the beginning of the series and it would explain why he's alone, except for a dog.

Probably killed in the Disastrous Event. To be honest, I'm not really surprised Beverly Crusher doesn't seem to be in this show, everyone seems to struggle to do anything with the character. Her most memorable episode in the TV series was Sub Rosa (enough said), she was practically a non-entity in the movies, and even the novels where she's married to Picard and they have a child barely use her, aside a token scene in each novel she's barely there, to the point that other medical officers on the Enterprise are the go-to people for medical matters and officer briefings. Even when Crusher temporarily took over as CMO on DS9 the only book to focus on that had her taking a supporting role to Dr. Pulaski.

So, no, there is no reason for me to expect Crusher to be in this series. At all.

Where is Beverly?
Where is Anij?
Where is Vash?
Where is Commander Daren with her yoga mat keyboard?
Why they had to go
I don't know, they wouldn't say.
I said something wrong.
Now I long for yesterday.

Heh...

Beverly Crusher
Picks up the lamp that a ghost had once lived in
Was it a dream?
Waits at the turbo
Wearing a coat that she keeps on the back of her chair
Has lovely red hair.

All the Star Trek people
Where do they all fit in?
All the Star Trek people
Where did they all go to?

Admiral Picard
Dreams of a painting he never can hope to finish
Data draws near
Look at him sleeping
Dreams flashing by while his dog hears him cry in the night
Daughter takes flight

All the Star Trek people
Where do they all fit in?
All the Star Trek people
Where did they all go to?

Beverly Crusher was formative for me as a kid, which means that a lot of my excitement about ST:P is wrapped up in unreasonable amounts of worry about her. She really does often seem to be a late afterthought to writers.

In some ways I'd rather she was fridged if the alternative is apathy.

I wonder if we'll ever see Wesley again?
If so, will it pick up from the deleted Nemesis scene where he's back in Starfleet or will he show up with Traveler powers?

What about Q for that matter?

Picard is supposed to have more than one season so I expect Crusher and other TNG crewmates to make appearances in later seasons.
This. Some people think there are too many TNG cast members showing up in season one as it is, so the reunion tour bus is full for now. But I wouldn't be surprised if "Admiral Crusher" is name-dropped in season one though.

Lump me in with the "TNG reunion" crowd. I so want -- nay, NEED -- this series! There hasn't been a Trek reunion like this since TMP, where we longed to see our heroes back together. That being said, I don't want it to be TNG 2.0, with everyone reprising their roles on a ship. But I do want it to be a "Hey, I haven't seen you in decades -- we're all in a new place in life, but here we are together again!" joyride.

This is likely due to the fact that (a) I just had my 30 year high school reunion and experienced the same sentiments, and (b) I'm a couple years shy of 50 and nostalgia is a drug.
