Where should I move?

^I think it genuinly comes to them not getting how modern technology works, and some kind of misguided fear that we are targets for terrorism and therefore htye must tap EVERYTHING and inevetably overreact. So while they may possibly think that they're protecting the country, they're inciting a freaking rebellion. I'd look forward to election day in two years if there was any viable alternatives.

When you add up all the taxes we have here in the US (state, federal, property, ETC ETC ETC), you will find that there isn't much of a difference between Northern Europe and here. Also, keep in mind that the grass is always greener. Finland (besides the weather) has to be one of the nicest places I have lived and I plan on moving back.

If you plan on moving to the US you better find a american woman to marry or you can perhaps get a school visa, if you are highly educated maybe a work visa too. I know from some fellow Finns its harder to get a visa than they thought :P

Of course, you can do anything and move wherever you want if you have a good solid plan. I would go where the jobs are. Good luck :P

What part of the U.S. did you visit? New York?

Stick with the Visa plan. Marrying someone for any other reason than love always leads to disaster, especially in an increasingly litigious society where divorce lawyers are plentiful.

If you decide you can live with snow, you might try this place. I'd like to visit that town myself.

But it's REALLY hard work, right? :p :)

It's a tough job, but somebody's gotta' do it. It's a life of sacrifice, you know.

Forget London! Go the extra mile and come to sunny Chelmsford! :bolian:

An Essex boy... I love those! Do you have a David Beckham haircut, a diamond stud in your ear, and wear white shoes to dress up, by any chance? :p:p:p We had at least one other poster from Chelmsford, who sadly doesn't post here anymore. A lot of trekkies in Essex - who'd have thought... :p

Sorry, I'm nowhere near Essex. :p I have visited Chelmsford on several occasions, though (more frequently than is considered healthy).

I consider myself fairly "well travelled" perhaps. :bolian: ;)
