Where have you traveled???

I've travelled a little bit, but mostly in the 90s and 00s - less so nowadays. I just don't have the motivation to do so at this point.

I've visited many places in the British Isles, but have yet to visit the western isles and Hebrides of Scotland, Shetland, the south west of England, and the whole of Ireland. My commutes and working and living practices have taken me to London, East Midlands, Yorkshire, and east and central Scotland, by bus, car and train.

Beyond Britain, I've ventured into Europe - mostly by bus and ferry, both cross channel and overnight across the North Sea, and via the Channel Tunnel. I've visited north and eastern France, Switzerland, northern Italy (mostly Verona and Venice), the Czech Republic (well, Prague :p), the Netherlands and mostly Amsterdam, Austria including Salzburg, driven through B*****m, and (most frequently) western and central Germany. I didn't really go on my own, but stuck with the touristy places.

I love flying. My first visit to Scotland, and my most recent visit to London, were by domestic flights, and I loved every second of them. Beyond here, I've travelled to Sri Lanka twice - first time via Zurich, and the second time via Amsterdam and Dubai. I've also visited New Zealand twice: first time via Singapore, the second time via Bangkok and Sydney.

I have never travelled westwards beyond Wales. The Atlantic Ocean and the Americas remain a mystery to me.

There are so many places I still want to see. :(

I've been to about 30 of the 50 states.

I've been to Canada, Mexico, and New Zealand (briefly).

In college, I spent my Junior Year Abroad in Melbourne, Australia. That was my biggest foreign adventure.

Mainly around the U.S.A. I never left the country. Not even to Canada or Mexico.

Hawaii- I'm from O'ahu and been to Maui.

Oh yeah, everywhere I went was by vehicle. I'm not a fan of flying and I do enjoy long drives and pit-stopped all across America.

In America I've been to or lived in: Texas, Tennessee, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, Florida and California. Since we drove to Tennessee and California from Texas, I've probably passed through a few of the states in between. Not sure of the route, so I can't say which. I've been Alaska and Hawaii as stops on international flights to and from Japan, were I lived as a child.

In the US…

It has been nearly ten years since I had visited a state I hadn't previously visited.

As for countries- Canada (Quebec), Mexico (bus trip half the length of Mexico from Mexico City to Cancun) France, Austria, Germany and Curacao (in the Netherlands Antilles).

Which I haven't seen nearly as much of as other places. This year I'm supposed to go to Korea for a wedding which I am EXTREMELY looking fwd to, hope to spend at least a week there.

I love to travel and experience new places! When going to a new place, I like experiencing their culture, so I absolutely avoid charter-vacations. Don't like how they round you up on a bus filled with people from your own country, and then buss you off to the hotel where you are expected to stay, and tell you what restaurants to eat at.

(charter-trips can be useful for cheap tickets though. My family and I have booked trips, gotten free transportation to our hotel, but from there just gone out exploring on our own).

Anyhow, here's my list over countries I've been to, layovers on airports don't count:

Europe:
Norway (Where I live)
Sweden
Denmark
Germany
Czech Republic
Netherlands
Belgium
France
Monaco
England
Greece
Turkey
Italy
The Vatican
Spain

Asia
:
Singapore
Malaysia

Africa:
Egypt

America:
Canada
United States

I've spent nearly my entire life in the United States, aside from three years at San Vito dei Normanni Air Station near Brindisi, Italy. The only other foreign country I've visited is Canada, specifically the provinces of Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, British Columbia, and Yukon.

As for the USA, it would actually be easier to list the states I haven't either lived in or visited. Those being...
-West Virginia
-Michigan
-Kentucky
-Alabama
-Louisiana
-Iowa
-Oklahoma
-Texas
-Utah
-Hawaii

I'd still like to visit Australia and NZ one day. Only continent haven't visited yet (missed opportunity). And see Northern Lights (or Southern) - missed that one too.

Haven't really traveled outside of the Northeastern corner of the United States (nothing southward of DC).
