Where have you traveled???

I've never been out of the Continental United States (born in Michigan) sans Canada (Windsor). I've visited 9 states (Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania). Most of that is on day trips in a car. I've been on one plane in my entire 30 years on the planet (Michigan to Washington, DC). So, where have you been???

As a kid I was always brought along to visits to friends and family in Norway and Germany, and the occasional touristic vacation in Austria or the dictatorship of Spain...

As a teenager i did the 'Interrail'-thing to Holland, England and Scotland...

Plus: I've passed through Italy and Belgium (pardon my language), but never set foot there.

Oh, yes, and I've been to Florida... once.

As you almost can see, I'm one of those that feel much better staying within a few kilometers of where I was born than globetrotting.... despite writing this from Spain.

I've seen quite a bit of Europe: beside my native Italy, I've been to France, England, Scotland, Ireland, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Austria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia, Greece, not to mention San Marino and the Vatican City. Outside of Europe, I've onky been in Brazil.

I've traveled a fair amount within the US, but mostly for baseball. I'm on a mission to see every major league park. Here are the cities I've been to: Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Kansas City, Anaheim, Minneapolis, New York City, Oakland, Seattle, St. Petersburg, Phoenix, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Miami, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, San Diego, San Francisco, St. Louis, Washington DC.

Outside the US? A few years ago I went to Mexico for my brother's wedding. Also one of the baseball parks I'm seeing this summer is in Toronto. (The other cities IN the US I'm visiting: Denver, Arlington, Houston, Detroit, Milwaukee, Cleveland, Cincinnati.)

I've been to a lot of states:

Definitely want to hit them all, though.

In Canada, I've been to Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, and the Yukon. Gonna see Quebec (Montreal) eventually.

Outside North America, I have been to Belgium and Hungary. I have a list of other places I want to visit.

I love travel and I consider it one of the most enlightening things that you can do, as long as you are more of a traveller than a tourist. There is a difference.

For North America, I've been to most States in the US, as well as Canada and Mexico. There are more places I'd like to visit in this area, such as Washington State, Alaska, and the Mayan ruins.

I've been to various countries in both Central and South America. Lots more I'd like to see, such as Machu Picchu.

I've been to most countries in Europe as well as having visited England, Scotland and Wales in the UK.

In Africa, I've visited Egypt quite some time ago and it was great! Would love to do a photo safari in Africa someday.

As for Asia, I've only been to India (but have covered that well from North to South) and Nepal. I really need to get around Asia more. Really want to visit China, Japan, and Thailand.

Would love to visit New Zealand and Australia someday as well.

Oh lets see, in the USA I have been to Maryland, Michigan, California, Colorado, Nevada, New York and DC.

In Canada I have been to BC and Alberta.

In Europe I have been to France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Italy & Andorra.

I have not been to continents other than North America and Europe :(

I've been to all 50 states,
Alberta,
British Columbia,
Mexico,
Costa Rica,
Panama,
Haiti,
Bermuda,
The Caymen Islands,
Belize,
The Bahamas,
England,
Ireland,
France,
Finland,
Spain,
The Canary Islands,
Morocco,
Egypt,
Italy,
Croatia,
Greece,
Jamaica,
Puerto Rico

I may be forgetting a few small islands here and there. I worked as a cruiseship employee for 7 years.

Basically the eastern US, with a few exceptions. Red is where I've lived, blue is where I've visited. The only time I've been out of the country was on a cruise to Nassau.

...funny you should ask...aside from the requisite short vacation trips to Florida and California, I had never been outside a roughly 300 km circle from my home town, Sweet Home, Chicago...

...until circumstances brought me here in the United Arab Emirates...half a world away, and very much like Tatooine...and at an age many would argue that all the power converters at Tosche Station could not power very well...

...oh, and I have been to Risa, Ceti Alpha 5, and Carolina...

...in my mind...

Europe: Italy, Germany, France, Spain, UK, Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Belgium, Luxembourg, Hungary, Netherlands, Monaco, Portugal, Croatia, Greece, Malta, Vatican, San Marino.
America: USA
Asia: Maldives, Dubai, Turkey
Africa: Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco

England: London, Coventry, Oxford, Kennilworth, Brighton, Warwick, Stratford, Leeds, Bath.
Mexico: Cancun, Cozumel
Grand Cayman
USA: California, Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Minnesota, Maine, New Jersey
France: I was dragged by English friends across the channel so they could go wine shopping at some super-store. It was some grey, depressing town in Northern France. That was my entire experience of France.

I never left America (well, technically I went to Gahanna but I was under 7 and barley remember it) but I've seen a lot of it. Apart from the places I visited for a week or two, I've lived in Raleigh SC, Olivebridge NY, Freemont, San Francisco, and Oakland CA, West Yellowstone MT, and several parts of MD for at least six months. Mostly for work. I used to be a land conservationist, mostly dealing with communal living.

My father traveled a lot when I was kid and took me along sometimes. That influenced me quite a bit. I simply love travelling. In the last couple of years I didn't travel so much due to a poor financial situation. But I would - if I could. Anyway, I've been to:

Several places in Germany
Austria
Switzerland
Netherlands
France (exchange program)
Luxembourg
Italy (mainland) and Sardinia
Spain (mainland) and Majorca
Malta
Scotland (Voluntary Year of Social Service)
England (London, to be more specific)
The United States (we took a tour, so I've been to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Seattle, New Orleans and Naples).
Vancouver (but just for one day)
Thailand
Turkey

I always wanted to go to New York and Egypt. So that's pretty high on my bucket list.

I've never left North America, although I'd certainly like to. Outside the U.S., I've been to Quebec and Toronto. In the U.S., all of New England and much of New York (I've lived in Connecticut most of my life except a couple years in New Hampshire), a couple trips to Florida (Orlando and Tampa) and Virginia (Virginia Beach and... um... my friend's parents' timeshare somewhere), one trip each to Alabama (Birmingham and then a nice long drive down to Orange Beach), Dallas, L.A. and D.C.

My parents are taking their first overseas trip (if you don't count the Bahamas, which really, no) to Hamburg in April. So there's still hope for me to get out of here someday... :)

As a teenager i did the 'Interrail'-thing to Holland, England and Scotland...

Oh, I envy you this!

-I've not done nearly as much travel as I'd like. My family was poor, so travel was fairly limited when I was a kid. I grew up in Seattle, and my international travel was pretty much limited to day trips to Vancouver or Victoria BC. They were often trips to get drugs, but I didn't know that! I do have fond memories of doing trips with my mother to Victoria via the Victoria Clipper, and I would highly recommend that trip to anyone visiting the Pacific Northwest. We also did a couple of family reunions in Yellowstone, and I got to go to New Orleans (where my dad grew up) to meet my grandparents when I was 14. One of my friend's parents gave her a trip to Hawaii for her graduation present, and paid for me to go with her, which was pretty damn cool. The total U.S. states I've been to are:
Colorado (Denver for work)
Connecticut
Hawaii
Idaho
Louisiana
New Jersey
New York
Oregon
Pennsylvania (Philly for work)
Washington
Wyoming

-I studied in Egypt for awhile when I was 17, mainly staying in Cairo and Aswan. LOVED IT.

-I studied in Mexico (primarily Puebla City) for awhile when I was 19, and it remains one of my favorite cities.

-A few years ago I had the opportunity to travel to Mumbai, though not under the best circumstances; my mother and I went so she could have life-saving surgery by a specialist. Due to medical complications, what was supposed to be a two week trip ended up being about a month and a half. It was amazing, though. I spent half the time in a hospital room watching Australian TV, and the other half on my own wandering around Mumbai. One of my favorite memories was spending an afternoon drinking amazing, fresh-squeezed juices in a cafe and trying to hold a conversation in my miserable French with a couple of lovely young Nigerian men.

My mom also took this picture of me in Mumbai, and it's one of my favorites:

The places I'd most like to travel to now are Europe (i've been to the airpots in Paris and Amsterdam, but that's it :( ), Sub-Saharan Africa, and Australia.

US: Have lived or spent a lot of time in CO, MD, NJ, and NY. Have been in most of the other states, including Hawaii but not Alaska.
Canada, twice.
Nicaragua.
England.
Italy.
Estonia, Lithuania and Russia when they were still the USSR.
Poland.

Will be going to Italy, Greece and Turkey in April-May!

England, Scotland, Wales, Jersey, Guernsey, France, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Cyprus and a road trip that took me through 9 states in the US.
