I'll definitely see it opening weekend, though I'll have to find a 2D screening. I've only seen a 3D movie in the theater once (Captain America) and it gave me a massive headache.

It shouldn't be too hard to find 2D screening. I almost NEVER go for the 3D versions of films, myself. Only a couple really tempt my interest that much. I haven't decided if Star Trek will be one of them.

That said, I liked the previous one, so I'll see this one. Hopefully opening weekend.

Opening weekend, almost certainly. I've seen some of them at sneak previews (thanks to winning tickets from radio stations ), and most of the rest on opening night. I won't be able to go to a midnight showing on a weeknight unless I take the following day off from work, though.

Come to think of it, the last one is probably the only one I didn't see on opening weekend, because I was in a long-distance relationship at the time and my boyfriend asked me to wait a couple of weeks, so that we could see it together when he came up to visit.

My days of blindly throwing money at anything with the words "Star Trek" in the title are long done. Without reviews I'm not sure if I'll go, much less when.

First screening, if possible. That way I can freely read the review and subject threads right from the get-go, not get too far behind for avoiding spoilers. Watching the rabid fan-persons spin off the rails is half of the fun.

I agree, but I'll probably go the opening weekend. I need to find people who'll accompany me, and most are not willing to put up with midnight screenings - especially if those are packed with rabid Trekkies.
