when will the prime timeline starfleet have transwarp.

I know they tried it on the Excelsior and the Voyager used it but im wondering when all Starfleet ships will have transwarp drives. also do you think armour and torpedoes like in VOY Endgame would be on future Starfleet ships in prime timeline.

It's on certain ships (Quantum Slipstream) in the novel continuity. Check the Trek Lit forum.

IIRC, the "Endgame" future tech was removed and confiscated.

And quantum slipstream is more reliable, and less likely to turn people into lizards, than transwarp. ;)

"Transwarp" is just a placeholder name for warp technology beyond what Starfleet is using at the time. The Enterprise-D and ships of her generation have what was referred to in Star Trek III as transwarp. I'm not sure QS drives count as transwarp, because I think it might actually be a separate methodology rather than just another extension of warp physics.

Whenever the writers want. We know they have transwarp beaming as of 2387 (which Old Spock gives to young Scotty in the '09 movie), although this may be the same as subspace beaming from TNG: "Bloodlines"

As BillJ said, the novelverse already has quantum slipstream drive, which is pretty much the same thing. And they used the transphasic torpedoes from "Endgame" against the Borg in Destiny. They worked for a little while...

I would agree with you. As you say Transwarp basically means even faster warp drive than what we already have.

As mentioned before, quantum slipstream drive is well used in the current Trek novels. A handful of ships like the Aventine and Voyager have it. It seems to require a lot of power and is used in short bursts.

Maybe when they learn to reverse engineer the Borg tech that Voyager brought back from the Delta Quadrant. When they came back they utilized Borg transwarp tech, right?

They use something like Benzite crystals which are basically incredibly rare and impossible to replicate, which wear down with every use, eventually rendering the drive useless until more are found and installed.

Only enough for about half a dozen ships exist and that's with constant rationing of the drive.

So yeah, still very much warp drive everywhere as of 2384 (novels) and 2400-2402 (ST:O).
