When the movie ended... [SPOILERS?]

I thought it was about time Trek invested in some eye candy for the end credit sequence, or at least the start of the credits. Most big films these days seem to have them and it's a lot cooler than simple white text on black background (like Wolverine had btw)

I would even have accepted the credits over top of stills from the movie...the way the original show did it! :)
I'm sure somebody will do it on youtube soon enough.

Actually, yes. I am going to now watch some TOS which I haven't done in years and years. And that isn't a knock against the film, it made me want to watch more adventures of this ship and her crew and for all the differences, it is the same crew and the same ship.

That famous narration was jarring and out of place given that this Trek outing had nothing to do with exploring strange new worlds or seeking out new life and new civilizations or anything like that. If I had never seen Star Trek before and I heard that I'd think... Huh?

Nor did it in The Wrath of Khan.
Maybe, but for whatever reason, this is the first time it felt like it didn't belong there. It's been out of place many times before, but this time it came off as REALLY out of place. It didn't fit the story or the tone of the movie, moreso than when it's been tacked on in the past.

Meh, to each his own. Personally, I loved that it was put in.

"Space -- disease and danger wrapped in darkness and silence. These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise..."

The end sequence of Kirk in the gold uniform was my favorite part, I think. They slid into the classic roles so well in that sequence...particularly Pine.

Really? I thought it was a really good ending, they did the backstory - now here we go. I also thought that it was really clearly telegraphed throughout the movie that they were going to end with the theme, I kind of figured that by refusing to use the theme all throughout the rest of the movie they were clearly saving it.

I liked it, but I thought it felt tacked on...and that's not because of the movie itself, it's just that they show Spock come on board, then Pine and crew ready for adventure, then it gets suddenly quiet, then we see the Enterprise just floating there, and then it starts...

I would have liked it better if they had come up on a shot of the Enterprise moving, then begun with the music and the tagline...I felt the pause was too long, but it's irrelevant...I still want more!!! :)

And if they had done stills of the film during the credits, I that would have absolutely MADE my week...I think almost everyone there would have been in stiches!! LOL
