When the movie ended... [SPOILERS?]

Didn't you sort of getting the feeling that it was only beginning? Almost like, OK, the first act is over, now let's get going. I'm not saying this in a negative sense, I just feel like I have to report back to the theater to see next week's episode!

After Leonard Nimoy ended the movie with the famous narration, I felt like "STAR TREK" had to show up on the screen and say, "Starring Chris Pine as Captain Kirk," and "Zachary Quinto, as Mr. Spock."

Here's hoping to many more exciting adventures with our "new" Enterprise crew. I really can't wait to see it again!

I enjoyed it, I really did, but it felt like that was the most logical place to end it. The cast is together and the adventure is beginning.

I wouldn't have mind it to last an hour longer... maybe in DVD will have some additional footage, a la Lord of the Rings. It was sure an open ending, let's hope money will not put itself in the middle of the road for now on.

Well, we do know there are some deleted scenes - one being Nero escaping from prison. Also, I didn't catch the scene of Sarek sitting by Amanda holding the infant Spock, like was viewed in the second trailer.

You know what I kind of wished they added to the end? What they did on TMP - "The Human Adventure is Just Beginning," but that's just me.

I'm curious to know how the Trek veterans are reacting to the new movie. I'm really wanting to know what Berman and Braga have to say about it. I've barely heard a word out of them about it, not even when it was announced three years ago.

I watched an interview with Berman from back in 2006. He thinks that any future Star Trek incarnation will be spun out from the universe that J.J. has set up in this film. I think that's a pretty logical assumption, but anything is possible.

I thought it was about time Trek invested in some eye candy for the end credit sequence, or at least the start of the credits. Most big films these days seem to have them and it's a lot cooler than simple white text on black background (like Wolverine had btw)

That famous narration was jarring and out of place given that this Trek outing had nothing to do with exploring strange new worlds or seeking out new life and new civilizations or anything like that. If I had never seen Star Trek before and I heard that I'd think... Huh?

I think that those words are classic and a lot of nonfans even know them. For example: Space, the final frontier... is a very well known phrase from trek as is "To boldly go where no one has gone before."

Maybe, but for whatever reason, this is the first time it felt like it didn't belong there. It's been out of place many times before, but this time it came off as REALLY out of place. It didn't fit the story or the tone of the movie, moreso than when it's been tacked on in the past.
